This article reviews the ability and willingness of individuals to change ideally it states that older individuals are more set in their ways and react with negativity to change where younger individuals are more willing to evaluate the change and the more exposure the individuals have to change the more likely they are to see some limitations. This information will be important to have, knowing that going into any organization there is going to be a "melting pot" so to speak; of individuals and they will all react differently to any changes that might be bestowed upon them.

I found this article to be useful generating the involvement of the staff is an important part of any business facility. It give the employees a sense of ownership within the facility. At the YMCA there is an annual campaign these funds help update the facility or possibly reconstruct a facility. This article helps define the values of what it takes to assure your staff is aware of what is happening and the importance of their participation. This will be valuable in having the proper knowledge of approaching the current staff of the facility as well as declaring to the community the importance of their support.

It speaks in the way of CEO's needing to develop a plan to add and show importance and define the best possible approach of leadership. it talks about not all CEO's being Leaders and the importance of the role of a CEO. Often great CEO's are born not made simply because they have the ability to inspire others and lead with true clarity direction. This is import information knowing that the natural leadership ability that one has can lead them into an executive position as a CEO.

The Purpose of the study in this article was to examine the culture of change in professional sport within the executive positions. There was a combination of six owners and general managers that were interviewed, to see how they had become successful within the culture of their particular organizations. The information in this went into the personal account of one CEO and what he did to better himself as a CEO for the YMCA organization and also help others when preparing for an executive role. I found this information to be extremely useful. Wanting to be a CEO myself I have and first hand caption of what one can do to obtain the necessary knowledge to be the best possible candidate for the role in a facility. No business is the same and there are things that will work in one that simply will not work in another and being able to determine that information will be imperative.

Among different manager's decisions strategic decision-making is a complex process that must be understood completely before it can be practiced effectively. Those responsible for strategic decision-making face a task of extreme complexity and ambiguity. This paper builds on previous theoretical and empirical studies to determine the extent to which contextual factors impact the strategic decision-making processes. Results showed that researches on contextual factors effecting strategic decision-making process are either limited or have produced contradictory results, especially studies relating decision’s familiarity, magnitude of impact, organizational size, firm’s performance, dynamism, hostility, heterogeneity, industry, cognitive diversity, cognitive conflict, and manager’s need for achievement to strategic decision-making processes. Knowing how to approach any type of decision in an organization can be vital to the outcome of a situation. The information found in this article will be important in the way of knowing how to properly approach situations how the best possible solutions for the organization.

The title of this article is “Beyond Leadership”. I found a statement made in this article really stood out to me "Building an organization from the ground up to deal effectively within a complex environment is inherently easier than changing one that already exists." This is obviously true anywhere, But now to determine how to effectively change the leadership that is in place currently to be stronger and more productive.
