The present report is based on the
learning experience gained during the internship of an airport clearance custom
service agent that was done at Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office. The job can be
described as coordinating clearance and the activities related to the
transportation system for the customers, transporters, and the customs
clearance. The main process is updating of the customers and the timely manner
for the whole process of stakeholder. The experience achieved by the job was in
the logistics department, freight company logistics, Arabic language knowledge,
and experience in the Oman custom system and the customs clearance (Customs. gov. om, 2018). I am Shadad Al-Darmaki
and the present report is based on my learning experience during the internship
program as customs clearance in the Oman airports. The internship is done at
Abdulaziz Al-Rahbi Custom office. The learning experience at the company was
excellent and I have learned new concepts related to the Bayan system and
customer shipping process. The internship at the customs office enables the
learner to have appropriate access towards the detailed information about the
lodging in the air cargo field. As I working there to be a customs clearance
department and have learned Bayan system as well as Arabic language excellence so,
it was a great experience learned in the general working system and marketing
system of the organization (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
1.1 Research
Question of Faculty of Business and Economics Department of Logistics, Tourism
and Service Management German University of Technology
What are some knowledge and experiences
that I gained in the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom clearance in Oman airport and
Salalah airport and Duqm airport internship at airport? What are some learning
skills, achievements and aspects of learning that I gained during the span of BAYAN
system? However, during my internship in the custom clearance office; there was
focus on issue related to the “multiple
visa system causes issues for tourists”; the issues are related with the
people who wants to travel in multiple GCC countries (Abdulqader, 2014).
1.2 Importance
of the learning in Salalah airport and Duqm airport internship at airport
Through focus on the aspects of
learning that I earned during the internship, however, through the internship,
I have gained further recognition about the economic prosperity and there is
the great learning in the custom office about the business climate that how operations
relevant to the custom office are performed. The issue I noticed during my
internship in the custom clearance office was related to the “multiple visa system causes issues for
tourists” because there issues related to the momentum of the investment
are also known and there is the focus on the future aspects also (Ndonga, 2013). Literature review
of the Salalah airport and Duqm airport internship at airport is given below:

Internship program of Faculty of Business and Economics Department of
Logistics, Tourism and Service Management German University of Technology
Oman, being a developing country has
worked a lot for the development in certain sectors and have more extent of
advancements in various areas. Cargo system isn't a special case out of its
advancements and the development. The present report is associated with the air
cargo industry related to research and market knowledge firm (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
The coming days of the Abdulaziz
AL-Rahbi Custom office would find a new flood in expanded global load activity,
which is relied upon to beat the rate predominant in the local and domestic
market. There is a ton of degree for passage of new members noticeable all
around payload industry due to fewer directions, bring down capital necessity,
bring down the requirement for aptitude and ability, and other low section
boundaries. Since, there is considerably more extension for this zone to
augment its quality to make Oman the best in load developments (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
During the whole time of my internship
at Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office, I was assigned with various sorts of
assignment and works; most of the work was related to the BAYAN system and
custom clearance at custom office cargo and by doing all the tasks assigned by
my manager I found appraisal in my performance of work and capabilities related
to the working process.
Learning
outcome of BAYAN system of Faculty of Business and Economics Department of
Logistics, Tourism and Service Management German University of Technology
I have
completed my three month internship Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office. My main
task at the customs office was to handle and manage the customs clearance and
the export monitoring system. My work at the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office
was to get the information from the customer about the export and his
application. After receiving the required information from the customer I have
to upload the whole information about the export number, name of the customer,
timing, and type of services to the BAYAN system (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The BAYAN system
provides complete information about the loading and unloading of the product
and how it can be transported as well as exported to different regions in the
world.
In the case of import the airline services are
required and BAYAN system provides complete information for the whole procedure
(Customs. gov. om, 2018). The whole Bayan
system was composed of 26 components and the basic components were custom
declaration registration, estimating fee system, refunding system, customs
tariff system, economic operator system, arrival registration system, and
warehouse system (Customs. gov. om, 2018). Bayan system is an
electric custom data system the works efficiently for all the customs
procedures and the operations and enables the customer to avail the finalized
services.
The customer
interaction with the electronic system increases and becomes more authentic for
the cargo services and customs clearance (Customs. gov. om, 2018). I have learned the
way to use the Bayan system and how to upload the information. The navigation
system or finding some entries was a little bit different system for me
therefore, I learned it with some difficulty. Then the manifest system was
associated with the connection to the air, marine cargo system and the custom
system (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The declaration of
customs registration was considered an application that acknowledges the type
of trade and the types of goods that can be imported or exported (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
The estimating tax system and fee
system was used to calculate taxes and the fees due on the services, the
customs value system was used for the monitoring purpose and to compare the
existing values with the previously saved databases (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The customs tariff
system identified terms for the goods and tariffs, system inspection, and departure
permit system provides the permit of departure. Through the whole time system
management was really a tough work for me although I have learned about it in
last month (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The reason for the
issue was code management system that provides a complete list of codes to be
operated in the registration system (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The statistical
reporting system was organized and provided me with the whole statistical
analysis in a form of the report.
I finished all the mentioned activities
of my internship inside a brief span of internship and my exactness was making
satisfied my manager at the customs office. I was successful in accomplishing
the trust of my manager with my learning skills and achievements. I was
assigned with some other projects too such as handling of cargo with the
extreme attention for the passengers who are getting ready to reveal the
services provided by my Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office.
The training program was focused on
personal achievement and learning outcomes that I learned during the span of
the internship. In order to finish each preparation programs and goals, I need
to again set up all the list of customers along with their cargo. I just got a
multi-week in each program that is all. I needed to get ready for diverse
exceed expectations sheet about the objectives and for the diverse reason for
learning. I was effectively accomplished my given focus for all the months of
internship.
During the training period that I spent
in the customs clearance department of Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office, I have
observed a number of things and gone through multiple processes that are
carried out to facilitate the passengers. I observed the way to find the
relevant data along with the Cargo handling process as ASRA (Automated Storage
and retrieval system) that is purposely designed by the largest group of
engineers.
During the internship, the control over
security was composed of the environment of export and import, health states,
and security of the exportation operations. The Omani system developed in the
Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office encourages the exporters and importers to take
the services of the company (Export. gov, 2017). The significance of the computerized
system is customized for the financials and the procedures of the whole booking
process. The customs clearance system is developed efficiently and encourages
the customers for the international and national investment. The rapid
facilitation and the electronic services are established in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi
custom office (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
The system was significantly improved
system and a forward initiative for the management of inventory and the storage
of cargo in the airport. The management system was a reliable and prestigious
project that improved the customer services of the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom
office. The Bayan system supports the services and monitors the whole process
with maximum accuracy. The supporting system provides a guarantee and the
custom refunding system. The computerized and electrically fascinating system facilitates
the services provides and customers and fastening process increases with the
releasing of information. The development of the system reduces the
falsification that is possible in the paper work. The general custom for the
working in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office is to identify the risk and the issues
that reduce the efficiency. But in present customer office, the Bayan system
was developed appropriately that no further consideration was required.
The major projects that are going to be
implemented in the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office can provide the company
with the entirely new process and development of operation for working as a
private company. The second phase of development in the company can lead to
more success and I have seen a number of improvements done by the management to
improve the customs services for the passengers.
The main objective of my internship was
to learn about the working process and implementation of BAYAN system in Abdulaziz
AL-Rahbi custom office. The goal was accomplished efficiently with increased
understanding of new mythologies and technology that is going to be implemented
in the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office.
The BAYAN system works efficiently for
the registration process of import and exports with the complete information of
data entry time and the complete performance. I was working in the customs
clearance department that deals with major retailers and traders of the region
and I have learned the way how they manage the trade in all the countries.
The objective of working there was
based on the valuable working experience and the knowledge that enables me to
understand the customs clearance process at the airport. The knowledge gained
in the internship can be elaborated in different ways that I used to learn and
work. In all cases learned in the internship program, information section in
BAYAN System is the duty of all the shipper/exporter.
The
BAYAN system working principle represents the customs declaration and the in
the whole event of presenting along with the announcement by the dealer or
representative of different companies, the merchant takes ought to be licensed.
The licenses are issued by the Directorate General of Customs and then these
licenses are presented in BAYAN System as a clearing organization.
The
traditions freedom office at the port where the merchandise is pulled back from
after the traditions techniques have been ended. There are two distinct and
well-defined traditions of administrations in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office.
Before presenting the traditions statement and the officer in control will make
it sure and affirm that the demand for the conditions and development are
satisfied. A different type of the traditions of Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom
office includes affirmation for all the piece of the shipment including exports
and imports under a traditions administration that is required to be submitted.
The
Bayan system is a manifest between the fright agents, customers, and the director
general at the customs office. The system established for the customers worked efficiently
to support the customers (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The Bayan system is
important to be developed in the customs office for the customer satisfaction.
The dispense of paper in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office is due to Bayan
system, there is no need to list the exports and imports for the relevant
bonding and confirmation (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The possibility for
the pre-arrival and release of services is considered in the Bayan system. Thy
unifying procedure is used in the Bayan system for the transparency of services
and to treat all the customers equally with the same procedure (Customs. gov. om, 2018). The proper system provided
by the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office reduces the risk of services and
enables the customs office to manage it. The repetition of data is avoided and
the access to accurate information and statistical data is provided by the system
(Customs. gov. om, 2018). The Bayan system
saves time, money and the efforts of the workers. The raise of economic status
is done by Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office.
Learning
Experience of Faculty of
Business and Economics Department of Logistics, Tourism and Service Management German
University of Technology
The internship program organized by Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi
Custom office provides an opportunity to have an extraordinary learning
knowledge particularly in the cargo system and customs clearance system in the
transportation industry. Besides other achievements in the company, I was able
to understand the statistical ways used by the company to find the other
options for the improvements in the system.
Presently, after having the internship, I have a vivid
understanding of the requirements of worldwide imports in the United States as
well as in Oman. The various other learning aspects gained during the
internship are listed below,
1. Who
is engaged with the bringing in the process?
2. Processes
of cargo system and customs clearance of luggage.
3. What
terms are used by the merchants for exchange along with import and export
business?
4. How
the bringing of import it is done.
5. How
the costs factor during the time spent inventory network are involved in the
system development.
Since
I have a decent and comprehension about different facts such as how the
procedure functions for the Imports and exports are done by BAYAN system developed
in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office.
This
internship position in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office is my first involvement
in the transportation business industry. Working in the company encourages me
to comprehend all the other general way that is helpful for imports to be done.
The imports have a more drawn out travel, I consider this as a venturing stone
for the whole procedure to be done quicker in the aviation system. The
internship provided me with comprehensive experience to pursue my job in
aviation department.
During
my internship, I encountered with compliments related to the affirmation in Supply
Chain Management of the company along with the logistics. By the end of the
analysis, the internship position will greatly affect my profession as Abdulaziz
AL-Rahbi Custom office is emerging as a global organization and if I somehow
happened to take after my vocation objectives of working universally, having a
temporary job at Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office can be an incredible
achievement.

Problem
identification of Faculty of
Business and Economics Department of Logistics, Tourism and Service Management
German University of Technology
The
customs department of Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office is fully equipped with
the advanced system for the customs clearance. The BAYAN system is developed to
reduce the actual difficulties faced by the manufactures and the importers. The
system process is implemented for the development of the cargo system. The real
problem faced by the customs department is the long ques of the trucks that are
standing outside of the office and are waiting for the turn to be hired by the
customers.
In
the whole system, there is no timely inspection of services for the goods that
are provided to the customers. The scanning facilities are provided for the
tanks that are filled while on the other hand there is not scanning facilities
for the empty tanks. I found that no scanning system is provided for the 24
hours. I discussed with my manager about the unavailability of the scanning
process for the tanks.
Another
issue faced during use of BAYAN system is related to chemicals that are often
highly dangerous. The chemicals require precise handling because sometimes the
chemicals are explosive materials and require special consideration for the
handling. During my internship, I faced difficulties in the handling of
chemicals because there was no proper system to place the chemicals in the
store (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
The handling system for the
dangerous products is required to be improved and a separate location should be
defined for the placement of chemical and explosive materials in the Abdulaziz
AL-Rahbi custom office. The precautionary measures and safety actions are
required to place the chemicals on the shelf.
The
manufactures of chemical materials especially Formaldehyde faces issue for the
import and export of the material. The difficulties in exporting the material
are due to the customs clearance at the borders of the country. The customs
department of Oman has introduced a new set of procedure for the import and
export of chemical material (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
The
clearance of chemical materials for import and export can be done by the
authorized system that is BAYAN system. The system is an application for the
customs clearing that can be done by the online application. The electronic
customs data system for the customs enables the customers to finalize the
product import as according to the regulations and rules for the custom
clearance services.
The timely delivery of the cargo is
a pronounced feature of Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office. The timely delivery
of the chemicals for the customers is important because late delivery can
result in consequences. The delay in the delivery induces impact on the
transportation system of the Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office. The suppliers
are required to deploy the schedules and vehicles for the delivery purposes (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
The
BAYAN system is important for the electronic payments, economic system analysis
of Oman, saves the time of customer and service provider along with saves money
and efforts, risk management, unification of equality, transparency, and
equality, possibility of the pre-arrival and releasing process, and the most
important feature is to avoid the repetition of data and dispense of paper
documents.
The
declaration processing the import and export of goods is related to the
authorized agents and the BAYAN system provides different regimes for the whole
system such as re-import, statistical import, re-export, temporary export,
personal import, temporary import, import and export that is to and from the
bonded warehouse, and the import and export to and from free zone and duty free
regions.
Keeping
in the view about all the problems and factors that are reported in the present
work some of the issues related to the customer services. The fast clearance at
the custom provides more facility to the customers and induces a positive
impact of the firm on the customer services. At the border, pronounce
industrial growth is observed that increases the economic growth and trade with
other regions of the world. The customs office is providing services to the customers
as according to the rules of government and state. The specific conditions are
applied for the commodities such as decree from the customs duties, taxes that
are required on the services, and single window application from the Bayan
system in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office (Customs. gov. om, 2018).
Conclusion on Faculty of Business and Economics Department of
Logistics, Tourism and Service Management German University of Technology
The
present report provides learning outcomes after having an internship in the custom
office. The experience of an internship in the customs office was excellent and
I have learned a lot about the custom services and clearance. In the company,
there are employees who are joined with exchange associations and are making
more profits in settling their issues through the associations.
Cleanliness
process done for the freight is less and depends on more consideration
regarding handle load in a most ideal manner. To the extent the proposals and
suggestions as according to my concerned, my true exhortation isn't to BAYAN
system. There are different choices to create an airplane terminal as opposed
to privatizing because the travelers will have trouble.
The
perceptions that I made in the load terminal in the customs office of Oman have
a few constraints, for example, reasonable work couldn't be permitted to be
done in understudies as they will straightforwardly take a shot at the
frameworks and get prepared on a few zones.
The present report provides evidence about the issues faced
by the customs clearance department of Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office. The
delay in the customs clearance for the import and export of chemicals is
observed during the internship. The report provides a process for the clearance
and how it can be improved to achieve maximum export in Oman. The improvement
in the clearance department will result in the economic growth of the country.
The perfect services will work to improve services for the customers and results
in more employment opportunities.
The objective of the present work is to describe the customs
services and implementation of BAYAN system in Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi custom office
Company. After completing the internship in the company I am now able to appreciate
the company management system and the worker's abilities. With the fast moving
process of activities that can be related to another management system at the
airport. The key characteristics for the network planning and the aircraft
selection can be described as according to the development of the company in
the previous year. The air cargo system of Abdulaziz AL-Rahbi Custom office is
different as compared to the other companies for the passenger market. The
rationale behind the variation is measured for the current alliance and the
strategies. The operations of the airport are developed under the efficient
alliance of strategies and the commercial management.
