Analysis Report on the ethical issue

                In that video, there is one ethical issue discussed between the project director and the project manager. Actually, project director want to complete the contract early while ignoring the security problems. In this project, encryption was considered essential to prevent security problems such as data breaches and external attacks on internal information system. Somehow CEO and directors are interested to complete this project as early as possible to get more projects from the contractor. Therefore, they forced project manager to complete this project without working on encryption that can cause problems in future. Considering the risk factor project manager is not ready to complete this project without encryption. Other than security risk, another reason preventing project manager is that CEO and other directors are not ready to take responsibility. Therefore in case of security issues in future, he will have to face liability.

        The ethical issue I have identified in this video is that the project director enforcing the project manager to deliver in-complete and security risk-based services to their customer while project director will not face negative consequences. For that, there will risk of hacking.. This is one of the biggest ethical issues that has been discussed in that video.

Ethical issues from the perspective of the Australian Computer Society Code of Professional Conduct of the ethical issue

    The ethical issues from Australian Computer Society Code of Professional Conduct are presented below:

To uphold and advance the honor, dignity and effectiveness of the profession of information technology and in keeping with high standards of competence and ethical conduct. According to this company is responsible to deliver high standard work rather than launching risk-based program.

Priorities

Priories are also not according to the code of professional conduct as priority is to earn financial advantages even through wrong ways (that is of course unethical)

Competence

Competence is also important in the accordance to the Australian Computer Society code of conduct that is ignored in this case.

Honesty

        According to the Australian Computer Society, there is a discussion about the new technologies and software through which the         company is able to launch new programs if your company wants to introduce new programs in their organization so that they have to work hard and they have to launch their products/ programs with full honesty. If the company uses shortcuts, for the project, so it is a completely unethical way to launch a computer program.

Recommendation of the ethical issue

        I have some recommendation after the analysis of the ethical issue that has been discussed. I can say that the company has to launch a program according to the Australia Computer Society. In that act, there is proper mentioning about the professional development of how the company is able to make a computer program by following this act in a proper way.

        This is because if the company follow such an act in a proper way so that there will be no ethical issue in the company in any case. In that video, the project director discusses the issue with the project manager and introduce a new program with the help of encryption. In my opinion, a project manager is a sensible person, and he knows everything about the consequences. If the company wanted to introduce any new program so they must have to follow Australian computer Society code of professional development that would ensure the company that they are moving in the right direction for the change.

        This issue is related to Information and communication technology because the company wants to encrypt the program and launch it for the company before the time.

        In the ACS section 4.5, there is proper information about professional development in the computer organization. But in the video, they are not working according to section 4.5.

        There is only one solution for solving the ethical problem in the organization, and that is they must have to follow the Code of the conduct of this issue so that the company is able to implement any program with perfection if the company is following the shortcuts, so it is completely against the ICT professional that are using Australian Computer Society code of ethics.

        Furthermore, in this situation best solution for project manager is to resolve the matter by discussing the matter with top level management in a face to face meeting. In case they reject his suggestions then he can blow the whistle. Project manager can also visit HR manager to get solution of his problem or he can just leave this job to safe is good reputation and professional career. Or in clear words we can say that, he should not accept project director’s or CEO’s offer regarding incentives as in this situation taking monetary benefits is also un-ethical.

        In that video, there is a proper recommendation about the project manager what he has to do for the ethical issue in the organization. In this scenario, the project manager discusses the problem with the project manager.

        There are three possible endings of the video, and I have chosen the third ending in which the project manager follows up the team order through discussion. In that video, they showed how the project manager listens the discussion of the project director in detail and agree with it. The project director said that it is totally unethical if we do that project in that way because if we get hacked such important information of the customer will be missed used by the others and that not a good idea. The project manager completely agrees with the point of view of the project director (Dittrich, Bailey, & Dietrich, 2011).

Recommendation about the ethical solution

        I have chosen that scenario for the ending of the video. In my opinion, this solution is one of the best solutions for solving this ethical issue in the organization. This is because the first solution was related to the project director pressure. That he will get under pressure from the words of the project manager.

        This solution means that the personality of the project director is extremely weak. The next solution is to follow up the recommendation of the project manager. This solution is also not suitable because it is going completely against ACS. This is the reason why the last solution is perfect because in that the project director gave recommendation according to the ACS and solved the issue in a proper way.
