Answer
Before deciding on doing the business
management course, I underwent several stages, including having to pass several
exams, attain a diploma and move to the United Kingdom. At the Scaruffi Levi
Città del Tricolore School in Italy, I gained further understanding into
finance, economics, law and politics. I successfully attained my diploma after
five years at the institution and subsequently moved to the UK. I enrolled in
college starting with level 2 English. I have done other English, Mathematics
and Business Management classes. I hope to complete my remaining classes before
enrolling for the business management course at Learndirect.
The sources I used during my research
were beneficial as they allowed me to sit for several other short courses,
before undertaking the main course that will form the basis of my professional
career. After careful consideration of the course I wanted, the institution at
which I sought to undertake the course as well as the pricing, I concluded that
LearnDirect was the best option for me. I, therefore, indulged the Internet,
the newspapers, photographs, news articles and more, to not only gather more
information about the institution and the courses they offer but also on the
path I chose.
I can comfortably say that the information
I gathered was beneficial, seeing that I am about to enrol for the course I
genuinely have desired for years. The internet was especially beneficial as I
was able to even communicate with representatives of the institution, through
their website, emails, social media platforms and contact numbers, where they
passed more information and answered any questions I had (Luthra &
Flashman, 2017). The newspapers and photographs equipped me with the current
affairs regarding the institution, while the news articles were more beneficial
on what was happening within the institution. The information I subsequently
gathered was sufficient to persuade me to stick to the course of my choice,
institution of my choice and mode of study.
Feedback
This answer needs to
relate to the research you carried out regarding your degree course. What
sources did you use and how effective were these in researching information
about your preferred university and degree course?
Addition after Feedback
It is important to
mention here that I explored range of sources while I carried out my research
for finding a degree or course relevant to my interest. I knew that exploring
educational resources would be a good option. So first of all, I went for universities’
website. I visited various website of different
universities to find information about my course. It was great to gather useful
information from these sources, as they allowed me to understand that what kind
of content is part of the course, and what kind of study scheme is adopted by
different universities. Once I had good information about course, and its
overall structure, then next part was to explore news and online articles
regarding these universities. It was important to explore these resources to
know that which universities are considered best amongst all of them. So, this
search of sources was very effective, because I was able to collect concrete
information regarding universities and their rankings. I was able to know that
which universities are best in what kind of courses and degrees. It allowed me
to pick top three universities having their best features. It shows that these
sources were very effective and beneficial for me as they not only helped me to
get information about universities, but also helped me to pick top three
institutions, where I can pursue my Higher Education. These resources really
helped me to get accurate and required information about my degree and courses.
I also explored journal articles as well to get some primary data from
researchers, which also proved best for my knowledge. In the end, I must say
that overall research activity was a great one for me, as it helped me in
gaining so much information about my courses and degrees. Every resource gave
me some additional information about my course, which allowed me to make a considerable
decision in the end.

When you have
completed your research you need to produce a table/chart or spreadsheet that
outlines the main factors, qualities, key features and detailed entry

how useful this activity was in terms of helping you to decide which
universities to apply to, and any conclusions you have come to. For example,
your research may have helped you to discount a particular establishment, or
that you wish to consider other locations.

This task helped me to
consider more in-depth about which university I would like to apply. I looked
into and compared between the University of Manchester, University of
Birmingham and University College London.
The entry requirements are similar for each university with small variations.
If you are unable to meet the entry requirements for a particular
qualification, they will review your grades that are equivalent to their
standard eligibility criteria.
By using research to aid me in finding the answers about the potential
universities, I have been able to produce a table outlining all the necessary
requirements and information.
The University of Birmingham stood out to me as it turns out they are in the
top 1% globally (University of Birmingham 2017). I also discovered that
Manchester University is the sixth best in the UK (University of Manchester
n.d.).
All these universities are very appealing to me. I am going to have to think
long and hard about which one I want to apply.
