The manufacturing process in organizations passes through multiprocessing production work. The particular issues are the demand and needs of the products by the customers. The products other than demand goes to inventory so the progress of organization depends on the inventory management. The mishandling of inventory induces additional consequences to the organizations. The HR professionals and the management heads works to improve the opportunities in organization. The objective is to identify role of inventory management in the organization.
In the organizations there are many processes which they performed to achieve the desired goals however sometimes those goals does not achieve due to the problems which occur during the processes. In the organization, the major processes include manufacturing process, logistics process, and Human Resource Management process. All of these processes play a significant role in the success of the organization and increasing its efficiency and productivity. In a manufacturing organization, the manufacturing processes have huge significance for the organization. However the manufacturing process not always provides the desired outcomes.
The manufacturing process contains many stages such as designing of the product, purchasing material and production of the product etc. It has been seen that the manufacturing organizations often overproduce or underproduce due to the shift in demand. It is one of the main issues due to which the manufacturing process does not deliver the desired outcome. When the demand for the products sudden increases the organization unable to handle the demand and result would be the shortage of products due to which many customers have to face inconvenience and the reputation of the corporation decreases. The main reason for which this issue occurs is that many corporations unable to forecast the increase or decrease in demand in the future (Swift & Booker, 2013).
Due to the overproduction or underproduction, many issues arise in the organization such as the decrease in customer satisfaction, increase in cost and decrease in the moral of the employees. When customers are not going to get their product on time they will definitely start looking for the alternative which will decrease the customer loyalty as well. Therefore it can be said that this issue has the major impact on the sales and profitability of the corporation. The second major process that any organization performs is the logistics and logistics play the key role in the efficiency and productivity of the corporation however the logistic process also is not able to produce the desired goals if they logistics operations are not managed appropriately.
Inventory management is an important part of the logistics process. It has been seen that the inventory is not managed as it should be and that is one of the main reason due to which the logistics process unable to achieve its desired goal. The inventory issues can also slow down the production process and increase the cost of the organization. The productivity of the employees' decreases and the top management of the corporation will unable to make the rational decisions. In simple words, it can be said that if the inventory is not managed appropriately it would have severe consequences on the performance of the corporation. Not only the profitability of the organization would decrease but also the company will unable to compete with its competitors (Gupta, 2016).
The third major process of the corporation is the HR process. In the manufacturing organization, the organization requires such individuals which are highly skilled and can perform their activities efficiently. However, this is not always the case because during the recruitment processes the organization sometimes hire such individuals which are not skillful and therefore they need to be trained in order to increase their skills. Due to this issue the HR process unable to achieve its desired outcome. Not only training is expensive but also it took a lot of time to make the individuals highly skilled. The organizations today look for such professionals or individuals which possess certain problem-solving skills and can handle the problems effectively, however, the HR team sometimes unable to recognize the abilities of the persons which ultimately have the impact on the organization. All the above discussed processes most of the times unable to deliver the desired outcome. However, if the organizations focus on these processes and implement latest techniques than these processes can deliver the desired results (Simons, 2011).
