Objectives
The analysis of job is a process in which all
requirements or duties for a specific occupation that is determined or
identified. It is a process where the data collected for a particular job is
analyzed and judged. The analysis of job consists on the description of job or
the specification of job. It is the main
difference between specifications of job or its description is that; in
description of job it is actually the report which defines roles, duties,
responsibilities or scope of the specific. (Kleiman, 2016) Whereas, job
specification is a statement that defines the minimum level qualifications that
are required to perform a certain job. An example of Job Analysis is as
follows;

Experience required: 2 year minimum experience
Education level: BBA/MBA graduates

Duty A:
Managing all the marketing aspects
for the organization and the activities in
the marketing unit.
Marketing manager will need to manage and control all the
activities that occur in the central place in the program of marketing
management. Control method incorporates characterizing specialist, timing his
exercises, rendering of records and their review, settling of offers portion
and so on.
Duty B: Developing
marketing strategy for the organization that is aligned with the company goals
and objectives.
The marketing manager will be responsible for making sure
that he/she develops strategies that are line with the firm’s objectives. He
will be need to come up with innovative strategies, campaigns and content to
support organizational goals. His task will be do keep employees motivated to
work hard for sustainability.
Duty C: Co-ordinating the
new marketing campaigns with sale actions.
A marketing manager has to employees for sales
executives, salesmen, clerical staff, who will be a responsible person and will
work well in absence of the marketing manager’s coordination and direction. Coordination
that is prompt by the marketing manager himself, helps in reducing the chances
of conflict rising and it brings unity also in diversity. (Meglich, 2017)
A job analysis will also include a duty listing sheet
that will number all the duties required for a specific job. The duty sheet
will also include the frequency of performance, how many times will it be
required in a week to carry out that particular task. The importance of each
duty is also ranked with 1 being the most important and 4 being the least
important. Lastly, the level of learning difficulty is also included which
rates how hard or easy a duty is.
Methods for gathering data:
Data can be gathers by four different way that are by
interviews, group interviews, observations and questionnaires. For interviews,
the organization will need to interview other marketing managers, their heads
and the relevant CEOs. Group interviews can be conducted on good marketing
managers. Other marketing managers can be observed in organizations or
externally on Public Relation events. The last data gathering technique is
questionnaires; the organization can give out surveys to other marketing
managers to fill. (Caldwell, January, 2018 )
