            Language is actually a means or method of communication used by humans either through speaking or writing. It consists of using words in a conventional and structured way. In other words, language is a way of combining words with their pronunciations to express feelings and emotions. In the whole world, every other person is communicating. In societies, humans are given control and connections through communication.  There are several ways though which humans can communicate such as sentences, words, gestures, and facial expressions. Nonetheless, language is the most successful factor to communication as language seems to give the ways and words for sharing wishes, desires, ideas, and thoughts.

            It is very important for a language to have certain form of conventions and structure. Such things allow it to be shared among others. Only a part of the community is able to understand a language and this is actually true for both non-verbal and verbal language. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it is the language due to which civilization is present at the moment. It is the root to every development that has been carried out till now. And being capable of communicating is not similar to have a language because having a language points out that an individual is communicating in such a way that others are understanding him or her.

            The power of language actually increases when a person is able to understand a wider community than the one which is closest to the person. Generally, it grows when individuals are communicating for more reasons to many others. This way, the contribution to community through the language increases. The whole foundation of knowledge depends greatly on language and the capability of people to write down what they speak and communicate through.

            It has yet to be confirmed whether humans had a native or original language from the very start or not. It means that language as a social phenomenon is the only way through which an individual learns to grow and communicate. In the absence of this important phenomenon, humans would be more or less like intelligent animals. A community prospers on the basis of relations that exist among humans and language plays the central role in all of this. After all, it is through language that every other person is able to pass down the information and convey what is new.

            What makes it even more interesting is that language cannot be changed by an individual person. It is the people of the same community that modify the language and they are actually carrying the process out by borrowing words from another language and making theirs stronger. This way, words are developed which are able to carry a greater meaning of human feelings. Moreover, a language is powerful enough to create a separate and different reality for a person and writers seem to take the advantage of this fact. Therefore, an alternate universe can be created through language (Cummins, 2000).

How social media affects your relationships

            It can be said that an important role has been played by social media in making sure that every person is connected with the other regardless of the distances. There are several websites of social media that allow people to make new relationships and friends. At present, it is quite easy to get updates from the friends whether they are at a concert or a trip. Among people, these features have made social media platforms quite popular, especially the teenagers that are using the sites almost every other time.

            A relationship is affected both in a positive and a negative way by social media. On one hand, platforms of social media allow people to be connected with friends and close ones. But on the other hand, it causes individuals to be close-distanced and step away from direct interactions. Moreover, it has been observed that direct interactions and relationships resulting from them last longer than the ones which are made using social media.

            If merits of social media are being considered then it is not wise to skip on the fact that it allows people to connect to large communities, discover new and foreign interests, and make new friends without caring about distances. Individuals that are comfortable with direct interaction, or the ones suffering from social anxiety are unable to make strong relationships. It is the social media that provides them with a source of being more interactive and develop strong relationships. Using social media, people are able to connect with individuals from different nations and know more about their culture. Furthermore, it has been made possible to share updates and pictures with others. It allows people to share their stories with other friends even when they are traveling in a whole different area. This is very beneficial for every other use as it becomes easier to stay in touch even when such large distances are present.

            Social media is a secure way of being in a connection with others. Obviously, individuals in a healthy relationship also seem to use different platforms and it creates not only doubts but also gaps between the two. A partner is not aware of what the other person is doing when he or she is using a certain platform of the social media. This can leave a dent in relationships because direct interactions are very important. One of the most important threats of the social media is that the information about most of the people is not actual. Therefore, it becomes very difficult to judge the credibility of a person and due to it, effective relationships cannot be built. It means that developing relationships on the platforms of social media pose risks towards individuals. In addition, relationships developed on the platforms of social media are normally casual and this can lead to heartburn and emotional turmoil in cause individuals are being trusted without any investigation. It has also been analyzed that individuals find it easier to confront individuals in comparison with direct confrontation.

            Saudi Arabia wishes to develop further by 2030 and the efforts can be honed further by including another international language like English in the nation as it has the capacity to be used in different fields and sciences. This way societies can be broadened as global companies are allowed to do business in the nation. As one of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 is to make families more connected, social media can certainly do this. Using the platforms of social media, people in the society can be connected with each other (Farrugia, 2013).
