Descartes explains when an
individual is more inclined to a certain task, he gets more freedom. However,
the contemporary understanding of freedom is the right of doing, thinking, and
acting how a person wants. This concept also includes external limitations and
how much freedom a person is allowed. Descartes’s concept about freedom is
different because it doesn’t involve external forces that can limit the
freedom. I don’t think that I can completely agree with Descartes because in
some circumstances, the freedom of a person is confined over which he has no
control.
