The objective of
this report is to build a hydraulically powered tapping machine. In this report,
there are two circuits of hydraulic. One circuit is a vise control circuit, and
the other is a spindle control circuit. The other objective of this report is
to understand the hydraulic symbols. Understand the devices and valves of
hydraulic components.

Narrative of Hydraulically powered tapping
machine
The
technology of hydraulic system deals with the control, generation as well as
using the pressurized fluid transmission of power. This is not false if someone
says that power is the main thing which moves this industry. The reason behind
this is that fluid power is used to regulate, push, pull and virtually drive
all the machine of the latest industry. There are seven basic components of the
hydraulic circuit .
Reservoir this is used for storing the fluid
in it. The other component is Pump which is used to transfer power to the fluid
through the motor. The next component is the motor that is used to supply the
power to run the circuit. The fluid pressure, direction as well as the flow
rate is controlled by the valves. From fluid extracts the power actuator help
in this. The conductor is one of the components of that is used to constraints
fluid as well as allow to be pressurized the fluid. Removes the heat, lubricates, transfer power
as well as seals component this is done in the fluid section.

In
the figure above hydraulic system consists of a reservoir fluid by an internal
combustion engine a hydraulic pump is driven. The schematic diagram of this
circuit is given in the below section. The graphical symbol is developed by the
American National standards institute as well as adopted by the ISO (valvehydraulic).

Analysis of Hydraulically powered tapping
machine:
In
this experiment build a hydraulic powered tapping machine that is operated
simply. The specification of the machine is as follow: 1000psi is the maximum
pressure of the system. And by the electric motor, it must use the single
pump. When the vise is unclamped spindle
can’t rotate. The maximum force of the
vise clamping is 2000 lb. the maximum torque of spindle is 80 ft-lb at the
speed of 40 RPM, and the minimum weight is 20ft-lb, and the speed is 120
rev/min. the range of the speed is 40 to 120 rev/min.
The
three position valves are used in the vise control circuit. To clamp apart one
position should close the vise, and the second one is freezing the vise in
place at the center position as well as the last one is used to open the vise. The
other circuit is a spindle control circuit that is operated by the three
valves. One is used for turning the spindle in a clockwise direction and the
second one is used to lock the spindle in the right place, and the last one is
used to rotate a spindle counter clockwise.
And
the torque of spindle and the clamping force of vise should be adjusted
manually. In the above, we draw the hydraulic circuit; also the schematic
diagram is made with the appropriate symbol of hydraulic. Within the laminar
range, all velocity should be kept. Laminar flow is a desirable response as in
this flow the hydraulic system move in a smooth transition from one point to
another point; within the fluid, there is no turmoil. This flow is known as
laminar flow. For the maximum operating conditions, the pressure and velocities
are calculated (Krishna).

Conclusion of Hydraulically
powered tapping machine
It
is concluded that in this experiment we are only concerned about building a
hydraulic tapping machine. For tapping operation, a pneumatic technique is
recommended to overcome the problems that are faced through the conventional
method. In the experiment, we designed the schematic of the hydraulic tapping
machine. The proper graphically symbol is used for this. Also, it is
recommended that calculate the sample value and also calculated the pressure
and volume of the machine. This machine is work on 100 % accuracy, but in practical
life, this is not possible that tapping machine is work with a hundred percent
accuracy. This is performing in laminar flow as this the desirable result that
is wanted to achieve. The graph shows the result in linear as this is stable.
