It
is important to understand that teaching is very important profession for the
learning of students. It should not be a one way communication process, where
teacher continues to give lectures without getting any feedback that students
are learning something or not. This style of teaching is considered
ineffective, where learning is not ensured. The teachers have to understand the
fact that learning is a crucial part of their teaching if they want to become
effective teachers. A teacher should keep this fact in mind while teaching whether
his/her students are learning anything or not. (OJALVO ).
That’s why, I will try to ensure that my efforts don’t go in vein and my students
do learn something. I will adopt a teaching style, which will be based on two
way communications, so that my students can get my point, what I try to teach
them. I will try my best to teach students in a way that they learn to become
good students. The cultural diversity is increasing so I will try to teach my students
that they must accept other cultures with open mind, and prepare to work with
others in any given environment. As a teacher, I will make sure my students
understand the lessons and are able to apply their knowledge. As a teacher, I
will carry the message of equality and inclusion throughout every lesson and
interaction I have with my students (Bologna)
The teachers should understand that citizenship
education is important in so many ways. The teachers must also convey this
message to their students that why citizenship is so crucial for them. They
must understand the fact that citizenship will allow them to gain knowledge as
well as understand a society with all its aspects. For instance, a society can
have various things to associate with like its laws, economy, media, and
people. The students who will enhance their knowledge to become better
citizens, they will start to respect laws of a society. They will also know
that how to respect people in their society without making any kind of
discrimination. I will explain to my students that how they can become good
citizens by learning effective citizenship. I will show them models of citizenship
and will provide real world examples through videos so that they can understand
its basic purpose and elements. A good student must learn everything to become
a good citizen so that he/she can become an effective member of the society ( Bergen and McLean)
The other important thing for students
to learn is that how to accept other cultures with open arms. The diversity in
education field is increasing with the time so even classrooms are become culturally
diverse. It means that students should be provided enough knowledge to learn
that how they can respect other people from different cultures without
involving any conflicts. I will teach my students about different regions and
different countries with multiple cultures. I will inform them about major
religions of the world and how culturally diverse these religions in different
areas of the world. I will allow every student to explain his/her culture to
other students and gives answers about his/her culture. This is how each student
will learn about each other culture, and they will be more open to accept each
other cultures ( PESCE )
It is a fact that after completing
their education, the students will go out to work in different work environment
and cultures, so it is important for them to learn that how they can prepare
themselves to work in any given environment. I will teach my students that how
they can use their skills and well as money to become efficient at their work. Moreover,
I will try to ensure that my students learn to handle pressure and also learn
time management skills. The best option that I will provide to my students is
that they should go and work for few weeks as an internee in any company so
that they practically learn all these elements of preparing themselves for real
work, when they will join their professional field. This pedagogy as well as
content areas can be instrumental for the learning of student.
