Education is a huge part in a
student’s life and is an essential part in preparing for citizenship and work
after school. Education plays a pivotal role in the progression of the
students’ personality that how they behave as citizens in a society, and how
they conduct themselves at the work. Moreover, the other critical factor, which
education can help to learns that how to respect others. But certainly, it is a
valid question that I will know I have achieved the purpose in education; the
purpose of enhancing the learning of students in so many ways. I believe that I
can know about fulfillment of my teaching purpose when I will see my students
using their skills during the class and outside school. I will use many methods
to know that I have achieved this purpose such as by making different observations,
conducting discussions, and activities with students. Their response through
these methods will allow me to know that what my students have learned from me.
So, three ways I will use to know that I have achieved my purpose in my
teaching will be through observations, discussions, as well as activities (Anderson)
So, the first method of assessing
my own purpose of teaching is through making considerable observations. I will
observe the attitude, behavior and conduct of my students to see that they have
learned anything from my teaching or not. For instance, I will look at the
element of respect, they have achieved through learning. I would observe that
how my students are showing respect for fellow students. Moreover, it is
important to see that what level of respect students show for their teachers. I
will keep an eye on my students that how they conduct themselves around and how
they are treating their peers. I strongly believe that education helps to learn
manners to be more civilized. A civilized behavior is always added with the
element of respect shown form the personality of students. Moreover, I will
also observe the actions of my students that how they do their work, and have
they learned time management or not. These observations will certainly help me
to look at achievement of my purpose ( Booren, Downer and Vitiello)
Secondly, I will have discussions
with my students to know whether they have learned anything or not. For
instance, I will interact with them as much as possible, because this
communication will help me to identify the level of learning of each student. If
a student is ready to communicate and participate in the discussion and showing
an interest to talk about various issues and topics, then it certainly means
that they have learned something, which is now being reflected from their level
of discussion. Their communication and talking skills will be a great
indication that how each students have developed as compared to the past, when
he started education period with me. I will also involve students in different
activities like asking them to take part in volunteer activities so that I can
see their progress as human beings. This will allow me to analyze the
personality of each student (GONZALEZ).
The purpose of education is to prepare students for work or career after
school; if students obtain a job in the future, then I will know I have
achieved the purpose in education
It
has been mentioned above that how I will analyze the level of learning of my students,
and I am very much sure that these methods will certainly help. In the end of
the year, if my students follow my instructions and use them well, I will know that
my students have met their personal as well as professional goals, and I have
achieved the purpose of education. Then my students will be prepared for the
future. As a teacher, I will work hard to model and deliver the message with
various methods to meet the students where they are at each day. I will keep
analyzing my own strategy and method of teaching my students and enhancing
their learning experience in every possible manner.
