1. General Study Orientation
Research is basically a qualitative research study in
general orientation. In the article, qualitative data collection technique “interview
technique” is used as most of the interview questions were open-ended rather
than close-ended (Rubenstein, et al., 2014). Research finding is
based on the interview results of 84 stakeholders (total of 104 interviews)
2. Sample technique
In the research study, the purposive
sampling technique is used to select samples or participants from the
population. The main concern of the research study was with the health care centers;
therefore, participants are selected from healthcare centers only. To avoid
response biases and other unethical actions researcher only selected those
people or groups that have a direct concern with the research. Therefore,
research only selected 84 key stakeholders only for the purpose of collecting data
through interview questions.
3. Sample Characteristics
Selected samples are from both genders’
male and female. Basically, all samples are representative of their HCS,
regional, and local clinics. While samples are also representatives from quality
council coordinators. At the time of sampling, the researcher emphasized social
status characteristics such as position in local and regional clinics, project
management position, and leading positions in quality council coordinators. As
in the research study, other characteristics such as gender, age, and economic
status were not important therefore the researcher did not mention these
characteristics in the research article.
4. Choice of research design strategy
The descriptive cross-sectional
design is used in the research as a research design strategy. The researcher
also presented limitations and problem statement in the research article to
elaborate on the reliability and validity of the research study for future use.
The researcher also discussed how these research findings can be used in the
future for applicability to non-VA care and VA-care systems.
5. The process of Instrument Development
In the research, the study
interview was used as the data collection technique to collect. The researcher
used a formally structured interview template to collect information about
different selected domains. Researchers summarized the qualitative interview
results. Moreover, a matrix was
developed to examine the collected response or data in different
dimensions.
6. Data Analysis and Interpretation
Collected data was
analyzed on the basis of the matrix. While interpretation is made on the basis
of implementation results or outcomes. The research was basically based on the
healthcare system improvement through implementation of EBQI-PACT, therefore,
no generalization was made on the basis of assumption (Rubenstein,
et al., 2014).
Somehow, results can be used for generalization but only in the healthcare
sector as research findings cannot be used in other educational or industrial
sectors.
7. Other Analysis
The format of the research
article was relatively different and unique. There was no conclusion or proper
statistical results discussion section in the article that could help out the
reader in understanding research methodology and outcomes.
