It
is important to understand for the whole world community that things are
getting serious in terms of global warming and climate changes and vehicles are
playing a major part in these kinds of issues because of their pollution and
fuel emission. That’s why the need for more energy efficient and environment
friendly vehicles is increasing with the passage of time, and automotive
companies are taking it more seriously. The trend was started by Tesla Motors
and the company has been leading the way in this regard. But other famous
vehicle companies have also understood the importance of making environment
friendly vehicles, which consume natural resources like electricity or solar
power, and come up with reduced pollution. The electric cars have been
instrumental in this regard, as these cars do not consume any fuel rather these
cars run on batteries and electricity, and users can charge their cars from
electric stations. The great thing about these vehicles is that these not only help
in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions, but noise level will also get reduced
with the passage of time (Biswas & Tortajada, 2018)
It has been estimated that future of
vehicles and driving is linked with electric vehicles, because it is going to
be a great need for the planet in coming years with more issues out of global
warming. If the world community wants to save this planet from devastating
effects of global warming and climate changes, then everyone has to take part,
and role of vehicles is most crucial in this regard. That’s why famous and big
automotive companies of the world are coming up with new brands and vehicles,
which run on electricity and solar power. Tesla has been instrumental in making
electric cars with great eco friendly features. The companies like Jaguar and Porsche
are also showing interest in developing electric vehicles. It has been said
that various countries have a plan to ban vehicles, which have internal
combustion engines like India plans to do it till 2030, Norway till 2025, and
UK till 2040. It shows that world is showing great concern for this. The
General Motors and Ford Motors, both have decided to come up with combined
effort by developing around 34 vehicles powered electric engines in the span of
next five years (STEWART, 2018).
As mentioned above that companies
are taking more interest in developing electric vehicles, and Ford Motors have
also understood that if they want to compete well in the automotive industry in
future, then they also have to develop electric cars and vehicles so that
electric cars market can be captured as much as possible. Keeping this fact in
view, the company has launched its fully electric car named as “Focus Electric”
(Ford, 2017). In this marketing
plan, the marketing strategies and objectives will be detailed with relevant
information that how Ford Motors should be marketing its Electric Cars in the
electric market, where major players like Tesla are enjoying the most success. The
marketing plan will include various details to depict that how Ford Motors is
going to use different platforms especially social media platforms to market
its fully electric car, and gain more attention from users, who are interested
in using electric cars rather than using fuel cars. This car is going to be a
great addition in electric cars market which would help to reduce carbon
footprint
