Summing up the
discussion it can be said that the shareholders of the company have diverse
opinions regarding making the decision about either upgrading the legacy system
or building a new software system. It can be seen that the company have three
potential alternative solutions for the problems. There is a decision analysis
criterion that needed to be considered while making the decision about
organizations software. A building of new software has two situations.
Further, one is
the successful deployment of software and the second is an unsuccessful
deployment of software. The cost and profitability of both solutions were also
very different from each other. If the organization go for outsourcing of the
system, then there are very fewer chances for the failure if system during
deployment.
The outsourcing of
a new system is also proving very good for the company because its
profitability is high and the risk of deployment is also 0 DHS. One thing about
this alternative is that it is the least profitable solution for the
organization, although the risk of upgrading software is low. To build an
in-house new software system, it is good that profit is high, but the cost and
risk are very high that can cause a problem for the company in the future. To
build an outsourcing new software system, it is good that profit is high but
the cost high that can cause a problem for the company in the future.
