Following
are the solutions that can resolve the language barrier issue that the
telecommunication company, Ooredoo is facing:
The Human Resource
Department should consider hiring from outside Oman as this way, there will be
better options for the company to take. There are various countries from which
workers can be hired. The employees from outside the country should be offered
special priorities and privileges. The employees of the organization should
promote their joining. If a proper enveloping environment is given offered to
the foreign employees, it will become easier for them to make their way and
place not only in the organization but also in the nation. For the growth and
the betterment of the organization, it can be said that a diverse culture is
very important. It is essential and this strategy will suit this way. With the
hiring of foreign workers, they can interact with the present ones and broaden
their vision as well.
The second solution is
that Ooredoo shouldn’t think about hiring workers form foreign nations at all
and focus only on training their own workers in the English Language which can
enhance their skills a promote a new program with the aim of nurturing the
capabilities of the workers. Every worker in the company should be made to
participate in the training program and those who are showing fast skills must
be appraised properly. It will not only be a solution to the issue of language
barrier but it will also provide a competitive edge to the organization which
it can use to stay ahead of all other competitors. This solution actually is
more preferable by the organization because of certain reasons which will be
discussed below.
Limitations of the
solution one: It is very difficult for the
organization to hire foreign workers because they seek wage which is higher
than what is being offered to the current employees of the organization.
Furthermore, for the time-being, Ooredoo will have to bear the costs of new
screening methods. If foreign workers are being facilitated more, it might
create an environment which might dissatisfy the existing employees and make
them think about other options. It will harm the organization (Ducker, 2014).
Limitations of the
second solution: The most important limitation with
the second solution is that the organization will have to invest a lot of its
time in training the workers. Other than this, the method is preferable because
it is not only affordable but it can promote a healthy atmosphere. It will not
only be a solution to the issue of language barrier but it will also provide a
competitive edge to the organization which it can use to stay ahead of all
other competitors. This solution actually is more preferable by the
organization (Alfredo Ardila, 2012).
Strong Competition
of Ooredoo Current Issues and Solutions
Telecommunication and mobile
industry is a very large market and there are no restrictions to the companies
which can enter the market. Even though Ooredoo has been leading the spectrum
for a while now, it is still a threat and a weakness that new entrants may
disrupt the consumer base of the organization. When new competitors enter the
market, it becomes difficult for the organization to keep the track of its
plans and the market. After all, every plan has to be changed in accordance
with the competitors and how they are operating in the market. Competitors have
the capability of not only disrupting the customer base but also decreasing the
sales which can harm the organization at present and even for the future.
Solution one: If
Ooredoo is not thinking about employing workers from other countries, mainly
outside the Oman and focusing on their own workers for enhancing their
capabilities and proficiency in the English language, it would create a
significant solution and competitive advantage for the organization in the
market because other competitors wouldn’t have such a strategy for promoting
the skills of workers. Every worker in the company should be made to
participate in the training program and those who are showing fast skills must
be appraised properly. It will not only be a solution to the issue of language
barrier but it will also provide a competitive edge to the organization which
it can use to stay ahead of all other competitors. This solution actually is
preferable because it can not only provide a competitive advantage to the
organization but it can immensely increase the capability of the organization as
well.
Solution two:
The other solution is about developing a product like a smartphone which hasn’t
been developed by other telecommunication companies and facilitated consumers.
This way, the organization can secure a better place among the targeted audience
and it can open new ways for the company to earn the revenues.
Limitations of the
second solution: This solution is highly risk
because there are many mobile phone developers in the market and it will be
very difficult for the organization to make this product successful and earn
profits. However, this solution will open a completely new way for Ooredoo to
earn revenues while beating other competitors in the industry.
The most important point for
the company development and progress is that they must have to keep track with
the latest technology. If the company is now improving their technology with
time so they may fall behind and lose their market value with time. The
operational manager of the company have to work on the recent technology and this
is one of the best solution to this problem. This can be explained with the help
of an example that if a new 5G technology has been arrived in the market and
the company management don’t take it seriously and delayed their working
process. Other companies in that area took advantage from this opportunity and
moved forward in the market. If the manager of the company is clever so he will
seek that opportunity first and then work on it with perfection (Long Zhao, 2017). This is the
best solution for the company if they wanted to stand in the market for long
time. The best recommendation for the company is that they must work on the new
emerging technologies in the market so that they can easily able to stay in the
market for a long period of time. For this, the company must have to make a
proper plan for this and then after justifying all the issues regarding this
emerging technology they have to implement it in their organization (Zhang, 2018)
