Telecom industry is the dynamic industry which have been
experiencing the rapid change overall into the business environment which
surely needs to manage the employee’s skills, discussed in the following:
Technological
shift and advancement of Human Resource Management
It is studied that there is a rapid technological shift and
advancement in the telecom industry, the change has been in the process for
within the months and then new technology arrives in the international market. Organization
has been experiencing the major challenge of rapid technology advancement and
shift which has become a major problem and serious concern in order to maintain
the competitiveness level for the industry (Levi, 2016). This is going to be
the huge problem and challenge but the survival can only be possible to remain
competent and design such HR policies which can create the skills of the human
resource to be able shifting to the new technology and acquire such skills so
that operating the new technology with the higher efficiency and be productive
in order to remain competitive in the industry.
The changing business environment in the
telecom industry is something moving rapidly forward, and things are not coming
into the hands as long as modern techniques have not been adopted yet.
Therefore, its HR management has to arrange the new technical skills program
and trainings which trains their employees to be conversant with the modern
technique and knowledge about the telecom industry and take the advantage of
this through improving the operational efficiency (Puyang, 2016).
Remote Areas Functionality of Human Resource
Management
It is studied that telecom is the
industry where professionals and technical staff have been hired from the
remote areas who have been working hard from the remote and show the
performance. This gives the advantage to the company Organization because now they have
option to hire the highly experienced and qualified staff member from the
overseas market or outsource the work because this is the networking-based work
which can be performed from remote areas and do not need to be physically there.
This is how they are performing good and things are going into the favorable
manners (Ponciano, 2018). This is increasing
the bargaining power of the management of the company because they have more
options and not only depended upon the local resource which is often used to
exploit the situation and demanding the higher salaries.
Moreover, it is also experienced that the rapid development
in business environment due to the international market factor as well, the
local resource is not highly equipped and having less knowledge comparing to
the resource available in the developed countries where education level is
higher at the most sophisticated level (Kramer, 2018). This shows that now
they can have access to that resource and can be competing in the rapidly
changing business environment and do not have to prepare the human resource
base which demands training program on continuous basis so that skills up
gradation can be possible. Outsourcing and networking access from remote areas
advantages the company to directly taking the advantage from the highly skilled
people from the foreign countries even.
This is only possible in the telecom and software industry
because of its nature of work. Otherwise, physical presence must be there and
it has to ensure that things are going according to this. It is important to
note that rapid development also have been taking place only in such industries
and sectors (Puyang, 2016).
Training Programs on
Regular Basis of Human Resource Management
This is the solution available to the telecom industry and
companies like Organization arranging the training programs where new skills
are taught to the staff after changing into the business environment. These
trainings are really useful because it ensures fulfilling the specific needs of
the training required to the staff and managing the things accordingly.
Training programs must be designed in the smart manner which adds up those
topics and skills which require most taking the advantage of latest technology
or process which improves the business efficiency and operational efficiency (Altman, 2017). Therefore, training
programs are also cheaper because one training program can provide the skills
to the hundreds and thousands of employees hired by the company.
This is important to understand that things are going into
the favorable manners when updated training programs have been provided to the
technical staff and now they are up to date to the international market. The
technological shift has been taking place rapidly in the telecom industry and
competition is also increasing over the time. Therefore, corrective actions
need to be taken on regular basis and there is no other way to adapt the new
skills and techniques, else losing the operational efficiency and the whole
business would be going to the competitor (James, 2018). Therefore, this is
the cheaper initiative available to be updated with new skills and meeting the
requirements of changing business environment.
