Category: Business & Management Paper Type: Report Writing Reference: HARVARD Words: 800

Non-verbal communication is also a type of communication but it is a type, which is slightly different from the other types. In these communication skills, the person has to use symbols and expression rather of talking to others. In its a different type of expressions, body postures, physiological reaction, gesture and eye contact are included. This communication skill is used at that place where the person cannot be able to give the answer by talking so they just give the smile and eye contact in order to answer or react on the question that is asked by the other person (Phutela & Deepika, 2015).

Moreover, this type of communication is used in that place where the person did not understand the culture and the languages of different countries. This type of communication is also very useful in the perspective of the globalized businesses because the entrepreneur has to communicate with the person who does not know about the globalized language, which helps the entrepreneur to communicate effectively. For instance, as it is said above that the individuals or entrepreneur who travels to China but do not be able to talk than they have to use their skills.

The skills, which are used at that time, are the skill of non-verbal communication. Through this, the entrepreneur can be able to give the answer by passing the expressions to other peoples. Many things should be understood before passing the smiles, expression, gestures and body exposures to the persons, as the meaning of these signs is different with respect to the different culture and different countries. Some of them think as positive sign whereas some of them think as a negative sign (Leeuw & Sonja, VIEW Journal of European Television History and Culture).

Gestures are used sometimes by different individuals, gestures are like the thumbs up expression but different countries have different meaning about that thumbs up some of the countries thinks that it’s an appreciative sign whereas as some of the countries and culture used as a vulgarism,

Facial expression tells the feeling of the individuals how they are feeling at the time. Adding more the emotion of the person are also collected from the facial expressions

Touch is another sign of non-verbal communication like the gestures also of the culture thinks that touch gives bad effects whereas some of the cultures think that it has positive effects on the communication. Everything depends on the culture of individuals.

Eye contact is also known as the non-verbal communication skill in which the person answer the question with the help of eye contact. Eye contact also has two sides some of the cultures think that eye contact is the sign of the honesty, dignity and attractiveness. Likewise in some cultures, eye contact is not considered as a good effect on the individuals (Groot & Jerome, 2016).

Adding more, with the help of the non-verbal communication the person can be able to understand the things to the employees and to the other individuals. For instance, when the person is communicating with the employees, entrepreneur or individuals then with that they are using the hands and using a good body posture with the eye contact, and then the person can easily be able to convey the message to the individuals and through these skills, the individuals can be able to gain the information (Eggenberger & Eva, 2013).
