With the rapid growth of the population and their vehicles the
traffic accidents are considered as the major problem that has spread at
worldwide level. It has predicted in the several report that there is 1.2
million people who are dying on each year just because of the roads of the
world. There are round about 50 million people who are suffering from nonfatal
injuries. More than the 90 % of the accidents on the road are occurring in the
developing countries which are referred as the low income countries as well as
middle income countries. Due to the injuries of the road traffic accident the
global losses are record as 518 billion US$ and the government is bearing its
cost between the 3% and 1% of its gross national products.
Due to the rapid growth in development of infrastructure,
modernization and economic growth during the last four decades the remarkable
development has been seen in the Oman. This growth has been reflecting on the
ownership of the car and increase of the usages of the automobile. In 2013, the total licensing vehicles was
round about the 10690 that was increase by 5.4% as compared to 2012 (Economy,
2014).
Therefore this development is accompanied due to the various problems just like
as the accidents. It has been revealed
by the report of the global road safety in 2013 that 30.4 deaths per 100000
people have been registered in Oman in 2010(Chan., 2013).It
shows that the highest deaths are record in Oman just because of the road
accidents in the state of the GCC and also recorded as the third highest in the
Eastern Mediterranean region.
It is revealed in the report of the WHO that the data which was
published in the 2017, deaths due to the road accidents have been reached to
1122 which is 10.86% of the total death in Oman. The age adjusted in the death
rate is roundabout to the 27.86 per 100000 of the total population of the Oman.
Oman is ranked at 47 numbers in the
world due to the death in accidents.
