In this chapter, there is a discussion
about the different project management methodologies that are used for reaching
several research objectives. After this, there are some project management
activities for this project. Through the help of these PM methodologies, it
will become extremely easy to evaluate the results. Then after this, at the end
of this chapter, there is some information that is related to the critical path
required to complete this project in the required time.
PM methodology of Project
management
One of the most part of any kind
of business that is small or big business that they must have efficient and
effective project management skill. This is because, through this, it will be
extremely easy for the company to manage their important tasks in the required
time without any difficulty. Through proper project management, it will be easy
for the company to run and maintain their project.
There are a lot of project
management methodologies that are extremely necessary to complete any kind of
required project goals for the company. With the help of these methodologies,
these goals will be achieved quite successfully for the company in the required
time. These are such methodologies that are basically the driving force of any
kind of business in the world. Through following these methodologies, the
companies are able to drive their project inefficient way.
The methodology is basically the
main model through which any project manager is able to plan, design, achieve
and implement any kind of project activities quite easily. All of these
methodologies that are used in project management will help the project
managers in defining the main scope of the project. They can also evaluate the
main important time required to complete each task of the project. Some other
factors, like resource and the deadline of the project, can be easily evaluated
through the help of these project management methodologies.
In Oman, there are some projects
that are not time flexible; these means that their deadline is fixed. For such a
task, there is a need to use project management methodologies to make the
project easy for the company in the future. This is because the project
managers are able to make an outline of the required tasks, and according to
these tasks, the time will be set, then there will be no time pressure in the
future.
One of the main purposes of this
methodology is that it will allow the project managers to control complete
tasks that are present in the project. Also, the project manager is able to
solve and tough problems that are part of the project. It can be seen that any
methodology is the basic skeleton that is involved in describing all major
steps in depth.
DSDM of Project management
This is also known as the dynamic
system development method that is basically the main approach required to
develop the system in a proper way. In this method, there is the use of
incremental prototyping. Through this, it will become extremely easy to manage
difficult project tasks. This is also an incremental and interactive approach
that gave importance to customers. Also, with the help of this method, it will
become extremely easy for the project manager to complete their project in a short
time span.
This project management
methodology is necessary for evaluating time flexibility to complete any kind
of task that is related to the project (Needham, et al., 2014).
There are some important DSDM
principles that will ensure that this method will help the project manager to
complete their work in the required time. The project manager is able to make a
new and important decision without waiting for the upper management due to this;
they are able to achieve the target on the required time. The main focus of this method is to on-time
delivery of the resources. One of the most important features of this
methodology is that it will become extremely easy for the project manager to
develop their project according to the feedback of their customers. Also, if
any change is made during the development process, then it is reversible. The
project manager has the ability to manage its project by making the time
flexible.
Agile Software Development for Project management
This is also one of the most
important projects management methodology, and it is basically the alternative
for traditional project management. This methodology will help the team to
complete and gave a proper response to an unpredictable task in the project. The
reason is that it only contains empirical feedback from the customers. With the
help of this methodology, the project manager is able to make certain changes
in the project. In this methodology, there is a requirement of analysis
paralysis because, through this, it will become easy to gather project
requirements at the same time (He, et al., 2014).
This project is related to time
flexibility and work efficiency for the people that are working in Oman. For
this project, there is a requirement of extreme agility. There are some
important features of Agile methodology that will help to complete the required
task in less period of time. These are short term delivery cycles, dynamic team
culture and also real-time communication.
This methodology will help the
customers to minimize some important project risks easily without any difficulty.
The team has the ability to track down the main features and tasks of the
required project. It will also help to drive the project in the right
direction. According to the required project if the project manager adopts this
methodology, then it will empower the main team to plan their projects with
time. The methodology mainly focuses on the development process of the project.
It will help the organization to complete the required project in the required
time (Hassan, et al., 2017).
SCRUM of Project management
This is basically a type or
alternative of an agile, but it is a lightweight process. It has the ability to
control and manage product development quite easily without any kind of
difficulty. In this method, there is the use of incremental and iterative
practices. The best advantage of this methodology is that its implementation is
extremely simple. If the project manager is using this tool for completing
their project, then it will become extremely easy to increase productivity.
This methodology will also reduce time, and work efficiency can be enhanced
easily. It will help the project manager to increase their project development
process in less time. This method is not only restricted to software
development projects.
Prince 2 of Project management
This type of methodology is used
by the project managers when their project is not moving in a smooth way, and
it will also allow driving different projects in the public and private
sectors. This methodology majorly used in different parts of Europe. With the
help of this method, it will become extremely for the project managers to meet
the requirement of the UK government. This methodology will also help to
provide basic information that is related to project management (Organization, 2010).
This method is used for high-level
management control of the company that is going to complete their project. This
is also one of the most structured approaches for project management, and the
reason is that it will help the project manager to define the framework. With
the help of this method, it will become extremely easy to evaluate all basic
activities of the project. Also, it is quite easy to supervise the project in a
proper way. All of the processes are arranged in the form of key inputs means
that through this it will become quite easy to maintain specific goals and
activities according to the plan of the project (Arcadis.com, 2019).
PM methodology summary of Project management
In the above part of the project,
there is a discussion about some important and basic project management methodologies.
These methodologies are DSDM, Prince 2, Scrum and finally, Agile Software
Development. All of these methodologies are extremely important in project
management, and also they played a vital role in completing the project in an efficient
way with perfection. The DSDM method there is the use of incremental prototyping.
Through this, it will become extremely easy to manage difficult project tasks.
This is also an incremental and interactive approach that gave importance to
customers. The main focus of this method is to on-time delivery of the
resources (Needham, et al., 2014).
Agile Software Development methodology
will help the team to complete and gave a proper response to an unpredictable
task in the project. The reason is that it only contains empirical feedback
from the customers. Also, it can be seen in Scrum methodology will help the
customers to minimize some important project risks easily without any
difficulty. The best advantage of this methodology is that its implementation
is extremely simple. If the project manager is using this tool for completing
their project, then it will become extremely easy to increase productivity. The
Prince 2 methodology is one of the most efficient. With the help of this method,
it will become extremely for the project managers to meet the requirement of
the UK government. This methodology will also help to provide basic information
that is related to project management. By just implementing the SCUM and Agile
methodologies in every research it will help to meet the required goal of the
project. This methodology also helps the project manager to optimize the
project in proper order without any difficulty. Moreover, agile methodology is
used to track basis and major tasks of the project and also steer the project
in the perfect direction. But on the other hand, the SCRUM methodology is used
for managing high-level project plans an inefficient way for the betterment of
the company.
PM activities of Project management
The project management activities
are extremely important for completing the project on time and meet the
research requirements easily. With the help of these activities, different
failure is avoided easily without any kind of difficulty. For maintaining and
analyzing the required task in proper time. For completing the PM activities,
it is necessary for the project manager to make a proper breakdown structure of
the work then it will be easy to control all activities of the project in a proper
way (Energy, 2010).
Work Breakdown Structure of Project management
According to the basic
information of the project, this research work breakdown structure will be
explained in the given figure in a proper way.
Task List of Project management
In this section of the chapter,
there is a proper list of the total required task that is required to complete
this dissertation in the required period of time without any difficulty. With
the help of this list, it will become extremely easy to evaluate and analyze
different tasks and duration of the project in an efficient way.
