skills for the selected job position. Moreover, in this section classroom
activities and current challenges are also discussed in detail to provide a
clear and comprehensive overview of the development plan. The following
presented table presents the timeline created for the employability skills
development plan. The following table only covers four key skills on which I
currently want to focus in order to enhance my employability skills for the job
position of Chief Financial Control Officer (CFO).

In accordance with the above mentioned table, each skill is
allotted 30 days total time duration with different hours per day. Somehow,
other than timeline the important question is that “how I will address these
development needs?” The following details will present I will address these
development needs.
Numeracy Skills
Numeracy skills are not essential but they can build a competitive
advantage. I have developed a complete plan to address this development need.
In accordance with my plan numeracy skills will be developed through practice (Durrani &
Tariq, 2012).
I would practice to memorize numbers and use those numbers as evidence while
communicating with other students and peer groups. For instance, I would practice
remembering solutions and answers to the homework question that I will later
discuss verbally in my communication. This practice will support me to get
development in this skill. Somehow, other than this I would also read books and
conduct research on the internet to learn more ways to get development in the
numeracy skills. Although, I will spend 1 hour per day from 20 June 2019 to 20
July 2019 to get improvement in the numeracy skills.
Decision Making Skills
Decision making skills are not really easy to be developed unless one
pays enough attention to it. For the development of this skill, I would attend
online training sessions. I will do practice with them and read out books
written on decision making skills development. Moreover, I would try to follow
the decision making steps, SWOT analysis, and Smart goals setting techniques to
practice decision making skills. Total time suggested to learn and practice
decision making skills is 30 days with 2 hours concentration daily.
Conflict Handling Skills
Conflict handling skills require
the talent for understanding the situation and negotiation skills (Bridgstock,
2009).
I have stronger negotiation skills, therefore, I only have to focus on the
understanding of uncertainties and conflicting situations quickly. Somehow,
such skills can be learned through practice and literature reading. I would
read books written on effective strategies to handle conflicting situations as
leaders in the organization to grab an idea about the possible methods and
strategies for conflict resolution. While on the other hand, I would also try
to practice conflicting handling skills in the classroom and playgrounds
whenever I would found people having quarrel or conflict. The total time
selected for this skill is 30 days a month (Mid of August to Mid of September)
with 0.5 hours per day activities related to conflict handling skills
development.
Auditing Skills
Auditing
skills are not easy to learn without enough practice. To learn auditing skills
I will spend a total 2 hours on a daily basis for a whole one month (Starting
from mid of September to the mid of October). I would address the need for
auditing skills development by practicing the case studies and questions
related to the auditing on a daily basis. I would read at least 1 book and 3
articles written on auditing other than the course textbook to get a more
advanced level understanding of auditing. Auditing skills can support me in
performing well at the selected job position.
Role
of Classroom Activities
Classroom activities are meant to design in such a way that
support the students get practice for their future career and jobs
responsibilities. Oral Presentation and group activities are best to promote
communication skills, numeracy or verbal learning skills, situation handling
skills, and decision making skills. I would use these activities for the skills
of numeracy skills, decision making skills, and conflict handling skills. While
the guest speaker's session on the topic of finance and auditing can support me
get more knowledge about auditing to enhance my skills development process.
Role
of Other Challenges
The role of other challenges includes experiences in
personal, academic, and professional life in the current semester and its
influences or role in the skills development plan. Work experience learned at the
workplace can be identified as a challenge that grabbed my attention towards
the requirement of conflict handling skills and decision making skills. While
on the other hand, during presentation and academic activities I found myself
lacking solid evidence related to numeric that also influenced my grades. The
academic experience encouraged me to present my views and arguments with the
numeric evidence to get better grades in the future.
