The present study was deemed
critical to identify the gaining insight and important requirements of
employers in the architecture industry for getting the right employees. The
graduate in architecture engineering and technology are often considered as
technically equipped with state of the art technology and able to perform their
job under standard conditions. It is also observed that attributes and skills
replaced an important part of employee hiring process along with the technical
competency analysis of applicants. The present work was based on
self-assessment and development plan for improving employability skills. I have
identified my personal skills like communication skills, management skills, and
critical thinking skills. Besides that, I indicated different things that
required to be upgraded and learned at the preparatory level. It can be
concluded that through self-assessment program identify that certain steps and
stages are required to improve my foreign language skills, stakeholder
management skills, computer aided software-based skills, and problem-solving
skills. There are different possibilities to improve these skills up to a
satisfactory level, the first option is to have free membership in the royal
institute of British architects. The second option is to work with the
architects registered on board. Both options are fully equipped with state of
the art technology and practice levels up to the requirement.
