Why is Oman predicted to grow faster than many other economies in the GCC?

Category: Economics Paper Type: Online Exam | Quiz | Test Reference: HARVARD Words: 420

AnswerThere are many reasons for which this country has predicted that it will grow faster than others. One of the most important reason is that this country discovered oil in 1960, and after this, they predicted that they would improve their economy better than other countries in that region.

The next biggest advantage to this country is that the land is extremely soft. This means that it is extremely easy for the government to extract oil from the land. Other countries like Saudi Arabia required a lot of heavy machines to make this happen in that country. This strategy will create a problem and make an effect on the country’s economic. This country will be one of the best countries with the effective and best growth rate in GCC. This is because it can be seen that the growth rate will be increased by 20 per cent in 2020. The reason is that the country has introduced Tanfeedh program in their country for its economic diversification. Through this, the government is extremely relaxing and helps different private and public sectors to move smoothly and properly. In 2019 the government of Oman has predicted that there is about 1.2% increase in the GDP of the country (Knack, 2009).

It will increase by more than 6% in the next year due to this proper economic system in this country. The World Bank also says that this growth will be increased by more than 10% that will be added to the diversification investment. Oman is focusing on another thing by checking on other parameters like the coastal location. The reason is that it will help the country to move in a proper way (Rogge, et al., 2011)
