Social
responsibility refers to the duties which must be carried out by people for the
benefit of other people and the society. Philosophy also makes up a significant
part of social responsibility in terms of ethics. Each and every individual
living being a part of a society has some social responsibilities and duties
which must be completed by him, not for his benefit but for the overall benefit
of people. An example of this would be not to throw trash in the open and if a
person sees trash on the streets then he should pick it up and throw in the
bin. It would not be beneficial for him but it will help in keeping the
vicinity clean and it would contribute to the betterment of society.
Philosophy
helps in explaining the relationship of a human being with the other in such a
way that a person should not do anything which can result in harm to others. The
same thing is explained by social responsibility as well.
A
variant of social responsibility is also established in businesses. It
underlines the concepts that an organization should ensure that it is not
harming its workers and the environment in which it is operating. Its
activities should be sustainable (Valiente, et al., 2012).
