Jawaharlal Nehru.
Summary of Gandhi Book Report
This book revolves around the life of Gandhi,
chapter 1 consists of the early life of Gandhi that he was a shy but very adventurous
person and studied law from London. Chapter 2 describes the experiences of
Gandhi in Natal province where he fought for just laws. Chapter 3 of the book consists
of increasing resentment in South Africa against Gandhi. Moreover, chapter 4,
5, and 6 of the book talks about developing religious and social ideas, simplicity,
and last years of Gandhi in South Africa. He believed in non-violent actions to
injustice, his efforts to fight unjust laws by non-violence are countless that
made him a popular leader of India. The remaining chapter (7-13) describes the social
campaigns, struggles, and last days of Gandhi that how he fought for poor
people, and how he fought against violence. He was even imprisoned but he
worked hard to the salt tax to save poor people and struggled hard with the
British government. British left India after countless struggles of Gandhi. Gandhi
was assassinated by Hindu extremists.

The book is very inspiring and worth the time. The
phrases used in the book are very appealing such as “violence is the fear
of the ideals of others” and “There
is no way to peace, peace is the way”. The book clearly portrays the
different events that work as a hook.
This book is highly recommended.
This book inspires me more to
help other people either in or out my way, especially poor people.
