Methods and Research Design
The
research design used for the research is descriptive. In the research we will
investigate the factors behind the current behavior of the Chicago employees
towards the vocation. For the analysis of the current situation we will
directly contact to the employees in the Chicago through the survey. In the
research quantitative data collection method will be used. A questionnaire will
be developed with the 5 level likert scale (strongly agree, agree, neutral,
disagree and strongly disagree). The independent variable used in the research
is budget and the dependent variable is vocations. The population selected for
the research is all employees of the Chicago including males and females
between the ages 18 to 45. However the research samples are selected on randomly
and voluntarily basis.
In
the research survey is used as the research method as through this we can
directly access the targeted samples. Survey based on the several questions
regarding employee’s behavior and causes for not taking and enjoying vocations,
will provide us the actual reasons. Thus the purpose of the survey is to
collect the original responses from the targeted samples and provide an
overview of the actual situation. In the research statistical analysis will be
used to reach at the results of the data collected from the survey. The
research design and methodology is appropriate for the research as it has
potential to target the right audience and collect the data without
biases.
Different
studies have shown Americans taking less vacations due to various factors. Some
of the biggest factors which become the reason for decline in vacation were
high cost of vacations. According to studies conducted in the past, the
American work culture also play key role in taking vacations (Lipman,
2018). Many Americans tend to focus
strictly on career growth and development and steer away from taking vacations
or planning time off. However, in recent years things began to change and
employees are now considering vacations important for their performance
enhancement (Lipman, 2018). The results have shown that employees are now
taking days off so that they can go for vacation (MENLO PARK). The vacations
are important for relieving stress and improving the thinking capability. The
studies have shown that the employees who take vacations work more effectively
after vacations which means that their efficiency and performance increases due
to the vacations (PITSKER). Many organizations in America are now forming
vacation policies and making vacation mandatory for the employees. The
businesses have realized the importance of vacations because it is obvious that
if the employees are not going to take vacations than the level of stress will
increase which will ultimately decrease the overall performance of the
organization. Therefore, it is important that the employees should take
vacation (MENLO PARK). In recent years the declining trend of vacation is
changing and employees have stated to take day off and spend time with their
friends and family (PITSKER).
