In Jones
Lang LaSalle each day is a busy day because the work of accountant never stops.
Although I'm working as an intern in the organization, I have to perform a lot
of activities which require skills and effort.
Jones Lang is a huge corporation and provides investment management
services. The organization has a presence in many countries which means that
the level of activities is quite complex. When the size of the organization
expands, it is evident that the level of activities also increases as a result.
In the organization, my duties are to assist in client accounting services.
At
the beginning of the week, the load of work is enormous, and I assist in the
preparation of the financial statements of various portfolios of properties of
the client. The development of financial statements requires skills and
necessary qualification. The financial statements follow a proper format and
follow international accounting standards. I have completed my business studies
with the major in accounting studies. Therefore, I have the necessary skills
and qualification to prepare the financial statements. I have developed various
financial statements for the client which includes the income statement,
statement of financial position and cash flow statement. Each state has its
format and contains a different type of information.
In
the financial statement, it is essential to include the information
accurately. As we provide services to
the client, it is necessary that the financial statements should be prepared
carefully. Today the reports are not ready manually because of the latest
accounting software. The accounting software has not only increased the
efficiency of the accountants and financial analysts but also the errors which
occur in bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements have also reduced
up to a lot of extents. Through
accounting software, I prepare the financial statements less amount of time,
and due to the accuracy of the formula, the calculations are also accurate.
How can I improve?
During
my internship, I have learned many things from my colleagues because they help
me a lot and support me I my work. The management of the organization is also
very cooperative and provide an ethical work environment to the employees. The
strong organizational culture contributes to healthy competition between
employees and every employee try its level best to perform efficiently in the
organization.
In
the organization, I have learned that the accountant should possess specific
skills to work professional I the accounts department. The accountant should
have a clear idea about the various activities which have an impact on the
financial position of the client. I can also improve my skills by attending
seminars which allow employees to further enhance their skills by learning new
things.
Application to the future of Accounting
Internship
Gathering
the required information was among the most onerous task for me because in
preparation of financial statements it is essential that all the information
related to assets, liabilities, profit, and loss are accurately included in the
statements otherwise the reports will provide accurate result which would be
disastrous not only for the client but also for the organization as well
because if the organization no provides quality services to its client than the
client will leave the organization and look for such corporation that provides
high-quality services to its clients.
I
have realized the importance of significance of my responsibility and prepared
the statements with accuracy so that the client will not face any issue in the
future. The skills that I have learned will help me a lot in the future. In the
future, I can prepare financial statements and budget with more accuracy and
efficiency because not only I will have experience, but also my skills are
enhanced over the period.
