In the
formation of a financial statement or recording the financial report I the
books of accounts, I make sure that all the information is correct and register
according to the GAAP standards. I know that if I’m going to prepare the financial
statements accurately according to the internal accounting standards then the
chances of frauds will also minimize and the financial statements will portray
the actual financial position of the client. It means that the client will not
face any issue regarding its economic status and various matters which require
economic situation such as tax payment will perform efficiently. In the
organization, my skills regarding financial reporting have enhanced up to a lot
ofextent, and now I can prepare statements with accuracy. My abilities to
understand the economic data has also improved significantly.
I
was familiar with different accounting and financial terms, but after the
internship, my knowledge regarding various financial terms has increased significantly.
In my university life, I have never experienced how the actual statements are
prepared and what conditions the business analysts and accountants face in
their routine life. After becoming an intern in a huge multinational
organization, I have realized that there is not much difference in theory and
practice. The critical difference that I have observed is the size of the
activities because in practice many things have to be considered while making a
financial statement. In university, if the report is not prepared accurately,
it is not a big deal, but in practical life, it will have a significant effect
on the client and the organization.
How can I improve? The Accounting
Internship
Although
the accounting software has helped me a lot and made my work quite easy. My efficiency
has increased significantly with the help of accounting software. The
accounting software is reliable, accurate and fast and has become a necessity
for the organizations. Due to the utilization of software my technological
skills also enhanced in the organization. After graduating from, the university
I was not aware regarding various software, but now I can use the accounting
software without any problem.
In
the organization, my data handling skills also improved because every day I
deal with the massive amount of data and it is a difficult task to handle an
enormous amount of information. However, there is still a lot of room for
improvement because currently I am an interne and there are a lot of things
which I haven't perform or managed yet. In the future, it would be appropriate to
learn skills so that when the level of activities increases I can handle them
effectively.
Application to the future of Accounting
Internship
Today
I can say that I have learned a lot by doing an internship in the organization.
When I first come to the organization, I do not possess some skills which are
essential for an accountant. I was not good at communication; I don't know how
to organize the information and how to prioritize work. However, with the
passage of time, I become good in contact, and today I can see organization
data quite efficiently. Moreover, I can manage the time in the organization and
focus on those tasks which are more critical and need to be done first. Our
financial manager has played a significant role in improving my skills and
abilities.
Every
day the manager guides me about my tasks and which tasks needed to be done
first. In the beginning, few errors occurred in the preparation of the
statement, and he is the one who identifies the errors in the report and allows
me to improve with the passage of time. Overall I can say that my moving toward
becoming an accounting professional and in future, I will have the abilities
which an accounting professional possess.
