Introduction of Proposal on
How Suppliers Are Selected in top Supermarkets of UAE
Choosing the right supplier may
look like a complicated process for the supply chain, while having the
efficient operation of supplier selection may be helpful for supply chains to
accomplish organizational goals. To maintain the competitive market position, a
long-range plan must be there in the supermarkets. This long-range plan needs
to include the long-term goals of the organization, understanding of the
marketplace, and most importantly the skilled and competent suppliers. Quality
and operational management ensure these aspects of large range organizational
plan. Quality refers to designing the processes and activities of the
organization to maximize quality organizational performance with the help of
competent staff (Battistoni, et al. 2013). This study will
briefly analyze the focus of quality and operation management on selecting qualified
suppliers so that effective operation could be developed in the organization.
Literature Review of Proposal
on How Suppliers Are Selected in top Supermarkets of UAE
According to the study conducted
by Dellana & Kros (2014), quality maturity
varies by the class of industry. The authors have examined the 17 different
courses along with quality maturity by the position of a supply chain. The authors
have found that quality maturity differed by a view of a supply chain that depends
on the definition of that position. The authors examined differences among supply
chain and jobs and industry classed to gain insights into program maturity of
quality management within supply chains and across sectors. The results have
shown that quality program maturity is not uniform generally and potentially
there are many opportunities for considerable improvements around many areas by
particular industry (Dellana and Kros 2014).
Methodology of Proposal on How
Suppliers Are Selected in top Supermarkets of UAE
The chosen approach of this study
is to make a qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis of the data and
research will be based on both primary and secondary research technique. Secondary
data is quite beneficial as it is readymade and readily available while primary
data provides the unique results. Various articles and journals will be
evaluated to collect the secondary data. A questionnaire based on ten questions
will be distributed among employees of quality and operation management staff of
UAE supermarkets; Carrefour, Lulu Hypermarkets, and Union Cooperatives
Supermarkets to collect the primary data. Sample size will be based on the
willingness and availability of the employees.
