It is important to understand that a
computer is of no use, it does not have any operating system to run. So,
operating systems is one of the most essential and important software, which is
extremely necessary for running and using the computer. It is most critical
thing because the process, memory as well as hardware of the computer are
managed by an operating system. A computer user has to communicate with the
computer to use it, so it is kind of a language of computer, which allow user to
communicate with computer. The operating systems have to handle different jobs,
and one of the first one is boosting the computer. During the boosting process,
an operating system does various things such as running different tests to
ensure that everything is working fine for the computer, it tries to identify
any new hardware added, and once these processes done, then it starts the computer
in a useable position. After operating system has started the computer, a user
may see various icons and programs on the desktop screen, which are pre
installed or installed by the user. The operating system helps to use memory,
CPU as well as data of the computer to run these programs as per requirements
of the users. There are different types of operating systems developed by
various companies like Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Unix etc (Computer Hope, 2018)
The one of the most prominent,
famous and most used operating systems are developed by the Microsoft Company
with the name of Windows. The data from the market has revealed that
approximately 90% personal computers use Windows operating system developed by

systems with the passage of time, which are still dominating the market. Each
new operating system was developed with more usability and functions than the
previous ones (Gregersen, 2017). In this paper, two operating systems

It is important to analyze both
Windows with their dominating and basic features so that it can be reviewed
that what kind of similarities and differences are there. When both Windows
were compared in this regard, it was found that in terms of similarities, there
is nothing much to talk about as no considerable similarities were found in
terms of design, features and usability. Both Windows are quite different from
each other and these differences are the main reason that Windows 10 is
considered better than Windows 7. There were no similarities to talk about, so
here are some major differences between the two Windows:
·
When user will log-in to Windows 10 as
compared to Windows 7, there will be a striking difference at first, which is
‘Start Menu” of both Windows. The Start Menu of Windows 10 is way efficient and

·
There is great difference between Windows
7 & Windows 10 with regards to their search bar and function. In Windows 7,
the users have to open Start Menu by clicking start button so that they can

·
The other major difference between two
Windows is their Web browser. In Windows 7, there is internet explorer, where
as in Windows 10, Microsoft has introduced new browser with the name Edge

So, these are some of the
viable differences to show that how different Windows 10 is from Windows 7. There
are many other differences as well but these ones were good enough to show the
comparison between the two Windows. It also shows that there are no
considerable similarities between the two Windows.
Conclusion
After analyzing and comparing two
operating systems; Windows 7 & Windows 10, it can be concluded that Windows
10 is quite better than the Windows 7 with so many great and advanced features
like Cortana, a digital assistant. It has more usability, features, speed and
security than Windows 7. So, it can be recommended to users that they must try
and use Windows 10 with all its great features, as their overall experience
will be better and enhanced. As far as similarities and differences are
concerned, there are no considerable similarities found, but there are so many
differences between these two Windows. Maybe, that’s why Microsoft introduced
