He has focused on various areas of research such as key research questions, target population, the purpose of study, background of the problem, and significance of the study etc. It is time to look at two most useful tips provided in this lecture. The first the most important tip provided in this lecture is regarding problem statement. Dr. Dawoody asserted that when research is going to be conducted, then start your research by writing the problem statement. He believes that it is one of the first crucial steps to move forward in right direction, because when you will have identified your actual Problem Statement, then it would be easy to derive Key Research Questions of your research. So, as early as possible, the problem statement will be determined, it would be easy to move with next procedures of the research. In problem statement, the researcher has to look at the background of the problem that what key element or issue in an organization is going to be discussed. The second most important tip provided by Dr. Dawoody is that one has to define the purpose of the study. It is important to define that why certain research is important and why are you doing this research. It would also determine that what you are trying to prove or disapprove.
