It is an American company dealing in
pharmaceutical business. The company was founded in 1849, and since then it has
been growing with the passage of time. The company’s headquarter is in New
York, and company has more than 90,200 all around the globe. The market cap for
Pfizer is $207.7B. The company manufactures biologic medicines as well as
vaccines. Different business segments are covered by the company like global
vaccines, global pharmaceutical, Consumer healthcare & oncology, and global
innovative pharmaceutical. The company has been playing a key role in research
and innovation in the pharmaceutical field. That’s why it has been acknowledged
by the world, as it was ranked number 80 on the Forbes list of top regarded
companies in 2018. When it comes to America’s largest public companies, Pfizer
stands at number 15 in this list. It shows that how Pfizer has gained success

Warner-Lambert
The company was founded by William
R. Warner in 1856, when he started his own drug store. Warner started to focus
only on drug manufacturing business named as William R. Warner & Co and
left his shop of drugs in 1886. In 1908, the company was bought by Pfeiffer
Chemical, which kept its original intact. In 1955, Warner-Lambert
Pharmaceutical Company was created by merging the Lambert and Warner’s firms. Then
the company continued its business with considerable success and it bought American
Chicle Company in 1962. One of the oldest companies like Parke-Davis was
acquired by Warner-Lambert in 1970. The journey continued and firs business
agreement between Warner-Lambert and Pfizer happened in 1996. And finally the
company merged into Pfizer in year 2000 (Pfizer.com, 2018)
Pharmacia
The roots of this company dates back
to 1837, when an Italian pharmacist started a company with the name of Farmitalia
Carlo Erba. In 1951, this company made a merger with Kabi Pharmacia, and in
1911 finally the Pharmacia AB was created in Sweden. The company’s roots in
United States can be traced back from 1886. During the 19th century,
the company kept its move forward and kept growing. In 1995, the merger was
made between The Upjohn Company and Pharmacia AB to form a new company with the
name of Pharmacia & Upjohn. In year 2000, Searle and Monsanto companies
made a merger with Pharmacia & Upjohn, and this merger resulted in the name
of Pharmacia Company. Finally, after so many years of changing names and growth
periods, the company made a merger with Pfizer in 2003, and became part of one
of the leading research based pharmaceutical companies in the world (Pfizer, 2018)
