Motivation Letter for Talinn University of Technology

Dear respected Sir / Madam,

It is always my interest to study about Cyber Security since my ambition is to get achievement in the technology field. Therefore, along with this letter, I would like to apply for an MSc degree in Cyber Security at Tallinn University of Technology. Previously, I have studied Computer Science & Technology at Liaoning University of Technology, China. Then I got an opportunity to practice my knowledge in a computer learning center as a System Administrator. And I also have experience of 1 year working as an Internship as ICT Support in the New Horizons Systems Solutions Nigeria Ltd. From these working experiences, I got the chance to learned on the teamwork and how to adjusted myself in the working environment with my colleagues and also senior staffs in a dedicated manner.

Within the last decades, we have noticed that the growth of the internet world can’t deny effected in modern society where the internet can’t be separated from the lifestyle, in fact, the internet has become an essential point to support the daily busy life. However, everything always has a good and bad side. In the case of the internet, certain negative attitudes indeed appeared from it. Hence, we need support from experts with excellent knowledge of Cyber Security and Computer Forensic. This has grown the motivation to become an expert in Cyber Security. Gartner Group which is known as an outstanding Computer analysis group predicted that the Computer Security would structure the general technology in the future. For example, Nigeria is one of the countries with considerable demand for experts and professional in Computer Security since the country aim to secure the entire data, information, and computer network along with the rise of the digital revolution.

During my study, I attended certain courses such as Network Programming, Database Management, and Object-Oriented Programming. From these courses, I have achieved a strong basis in computer science. Has been acknowledged that the applications of the computer system indeed increase and repeatedly expanding which lead to the developing of cyber terrorism and computer crime. This condition inspired me to learn more from the mechanism behind the crimes to the counterpart to stop these crimes. In the other hand, I would also motivated to learn about programming, designing, and other sections of networking as well. The curiosity and the ambition to properly understand the mechanism of the network technology has inspired me to get my Master degree in Cyber Security.

To achieve my dream, I have observed various education option in other countries which offering MSc in Cyber Security at a high cost but in low quality of education. Therefore, I came out to choose Tallinn University of Technology which provide the best quality of education and understand the financial strength as well.

The government has aware how modern society relies on the internet and computer system for all mechanism, starting from the financial services to the network transmission which possibly attached to viruses, hackers, or other items. And shutting down the system might be the only option with the damage result found from military attacks. Unfortunately, Cyber-attack would be difficult to track down and could impossibly get retaliation. This leaves the governments and intelligence agencies in worry if the cyber-attacks would get in touch with the vital infrastructure such as airports or bank systems. Therefore, with becoming a specialist in network security, I desire to help and support my country against this kind of terror and find the solutions to prevent it.

Denial of Service

Denial of Service (DoS) attacks is a cyber-attack where the executioner investigate how to create a machine or a network resource become unavailable to its designed users by pro term disorder services of the moderator connected to the internet. The attacks are usually proficient by loading the excessive commands to the targeted network to overload the system and avoiding the appropriate controls to be completed. The Denial of Service is the inspiring section which I would choose for my thesis besides than Trojans.

Once I graduate from Cyber Security, I would like to continue my degree to Ph.D. to be able to support my country and worldwide as well. I believe I that I would reach this from a high learning institution which gained a reputation for multicultural differences in its student and support the needs of students of moderate backgrounds.

To achieve the MSc degree from Tallinn University of Technology now has patterned in my mind. Along with the high level of faculties, research facilities, and computer assets that your University providing, I believe I could achieve my career objectives. With the support of my work experiences and proactive manners toward the subject, I believe that I have a great foundation to develop myself to become a Cyber Security expert.
