This assignment is related to
analysis of workplace monitoring and surveillance. The assignment analyzed
whether workplace surveillance is considered to be matter of safety related to
employees working at workplace or is it against the privacy of the employees
working at the workplace. The study analyzed this statement by formulating the
relationship between workplace surveillance and selected theory Unitarianism.
According to this theory, all the employees and Groups working in an organization
have same and unified interest. All the employees working in the organization
have same goals and objectives. One of the most significant and primary
objective of workplace surveillance is to make sure that all the employees are
moving in correct direction and resources of the business is being used in most
effective and efficient manner in order to achieve the formulated goals and
objectives. These similarities clearly suggest that this theory is associated
with workplace surveillance.
Key Concepts on Analysis of Workplace Monitoring and Surveillance
Workplace surveillance associated
with frequently monitoring the activities of the employees at work with. It can
be implemented through internet by monitoring the internet related activities
of the employees or their physical activities can also be monitored by using
techniques like digital cameras and other related equipment.
Radical feminism is a prospective
under the category of feminism which is associated with a belief that society
is dominated by the male members and most of the female members in the society
are living in a depressing situation under male members. This perspective
claims that female members are less dominating while male members are more
dominating in the society.
Pluralism theory suggests that
there are different groups in organization. All the different groups have
different opinions and interest. The power is distributed between these
different groups. These different groups may include business lobbies, unions
and professional associations (Provost and Sheppard 2012).
Different monitoring methods and
surveillance methods can be used by the management in order to monitor the
employees working in the organization. Some of the most significant monitoring
techniques implemented by the management include wire wrapping, GPS tracking
and internet monitoring. Surveillance of employees at workplace is associated
with techniques like surveillance on web surfing, email, instant message
service being used by the employees at workplace and interaction on different
social media websites. These methods and techniques will definitely help the
management to monitor and analyze the performance of the employees at workplace
on regular basis (Sabharwal and Wali 2013).
