The government all over the world are focusing
on effective implementation of ICT strategies in to order to ensure sustainable
economic growth. About a decade ago most of the government of the developing
countries use to take ICT’s as marginal technologies to achieve the economic
growth and reduced the inflation rate. However, according to Oliner (2000) in
the late 1990’s the economic growth achieved with the effective implementation
of ICT system in the organizations that result in improved employees’
productivity and the overall organizational performance (Oliner, 2000). The governments are
using ICT in order to improve the planning and monitory systems of development
programs as well as improving the service quality and enabling the customers to
access the required information.
The ICT have positive on the economy of
developing countries. Furthermore, Bhatnagar (2000) has also described that
implementation of advancement ICT system in Asian countries provide assistance
in improving governmental policies, activities and documentation process that
enable the governments to make well informed decision and ensure positive outcome. (Bhatnagar, 2000). Right use of ICT
system enable the economic growth as it supports the policy agenda of
governments and provides assistance in achieving the opportunities for the
governments, business and customers. Based on the empirical survey results by
Derick (2003) increased productivity and
improved operations in Asia-pacific countries have resulted in increased GDP
rates that indicates national economic growth (Dedrick, 2003).
