Dear Sir
I
am writing this letter to e-governance in order to adapt practices of
information society and e-governance era. As the world inaugurates the
inception of the year 2019 there is more focus on the information society and
e-governance era, UK, on the other hand, plucks up its courage to face a stream
of challenges pertaining to governance. From inefficient macroeconomic fiscal
policies to mismanagement is causing foreign exchange reserves to deplete and
the state, of over 200 million people, is on the brink of an economic crisis.
The only solution, in my opinion, is to critically analyze the damaged aspects
of UK’s government and find ways to incorporate information technology and
e-governance in its systems.
Being a
well-researched student in the field of Telecommunication Engineering, I
possess a vast and broad knowledge pertaining to the implementation of
networks. Electronic Governance enables governments to deliver services and
exchange information vis-à-vis information and communication technology (ICT). Information
society and e-governance era can stirs up the government’s ability to
ameliorate its efficiency and effectiveness in providing services (Avanti, 2019).
E-governance is
not a new term for UK as it was introduced. In a war-struck nation, where poor
citizens have to visit numerous government offices for the validation of single
paperwork whilst facing the enormity of corrupt government officials, UK needs
a more efficient information society and e-governance era that can enable the
state to conduct all the legal tasks without indulging in corruption. Moreover,
it also ought to increase the productivity of UK’s Telecommunication Authority.
Furthermore,
incorporating E-governance in UK would involve online payment of Taxes, and
Utility bills. Moreover, it would increase UK’s governance pertaining to online
banking systems, admission for hajj applications, the use of ATMs, and the
government’s capability to exchange information between its various
institutions. Last but not the least it would encapsulate the citizens of UK to
effectively participate in government policies and its decision-making
processes through the medium of traditional and social media vis-à-vis voting
and emails.
The reason I am
able to make this analysis is that my work experience pertaining to the field
of telecommunication has enabled me to compare and contrast the implementation
of e-governance in different well-developed nations of the world. For instance,
America and Canada have significantly improved their governance systems and
have been better able to resolve the people’s issues by using e-governance. My
trust in the effectiveness of information society and e-governance era
intensified when I did a research paper on the network systems used by the
Republic of China who has used this system to become the world’s second-largest
economy by overtaking Japan.
However,
incorporating e-governance in UK is not an easy job. Hiccups like low literacy
rate, resistance to change, lack of political will and the unstable political
and economic situation of UK makes the task at hand even more complicated.
Moreover, the prevalent cyber warfare in the Indo-Pacific region makes
penetration into UK’s cybersecurity systems more likely, which can eventually
ruin the perquisites of e-governance for UK.
Hence, the only
solution to this problem is if the government of UK invests in bringing highly
qualified professionals to UK for monetary management and tries to budget for
e-governance education and R&D in the state. This is not a recommendation
but a prescription for UK because the need of the time demands competition at
the world stage. In addition, in order to compete, UK needs to put itself at
the best possible competitive advantage and that can only be possible if we at
least start by incorporating e-governance (MD Staff, 2019).
Conclusively, by
opting for a master’s program in the subject of information society and
e-governance, and services, I hope to be among the few who are responsible for
putting UK on the track to good governance. Moreover, it will also widen my
knowledge of the administrative and legal dimensions of e-governance and enable
me to be adequate and efficient in fieldwork as well. In addition, this would
specifically be the main topic of my thesis, i.e., how to practically
incorporate e-governance in the existing geopolitical and economic situations
of the developing nations of the world.
Hence, I am
really looking forward to studying at the best university and I hope that my
application would receive good consideration from you. Thank you.
