We can conclude from the above
discussion that for the accomplishment or viability of any company management
of the Logistic is of utmost importance. Some of the companies outsource their
logistic to any company that has necessary expertise in it or they do manage on
their own. Therefore, the companies that are taking the contract of logistic
needs to take their understanding to next level regarding the companies’
operation. In order to compete at an international level and to gain an
economical advantage for long term they do need better logistic, this is
subject to those companies only who are operating at international level.
Recommendations
on Contract Management and Logistics
It is a must to follow the procedures
suggested by NASPO after the analysis of Logistic and contract management. They
recommend to have evolve a proper strategy for better performance for a
contract or project that is of very high value or have great risk involved
before it is inaugurated. There are interviews arranged by all the states
before the early functional time.
It may not be required for all
types of contract as it is very informal. The purpose of this meeting to set
clear communication about the role of the contractor company, procurement
office and agency to determine the standards on the basis of which evaluation
of performance will be done an to make a report of it so as to get better
results. Because the clear communication about the project will ensure the
great relation between the contractor and Central Procurement office. (Knowledgetomanagecontracts.blogspot.com 2012).
It is always best to have clear
and concise communication about the role and authority of the contractor agency
and Procurement office for better coordination among the team.
The steps and recommendations
provided in this Guide are based on state practices and common processes
identified by the work group through survey responses, state contract
management guides and group interview discussions (Çelebi,
Bayraktar and Bingöl 2010).
Performance evaluation should
also be done on the regular basis and must to do thing to ensure everything is
going smooth and according to the contract.23 % of the companies that took the
survey of NASPO cited that they are maintaining a record of performance of the contractor.
Twenty-three percent is of the State Central Procurement Offices
participating in the 2018 NASPO Survey of State Procurement
Practices record and track contractor performance. The usage of contracts
is something that is being used by many states. But the stipulation and
responsibilities may change as the contractor’s agreement. A complete up to
date record of the contract and evaluating on regular basis will ensure that everything
is according to the contract and any issues that may arise can be taken care
early on. (Oluka and Basheka 2014).
