What is intimate relationship violence?

        The word intimate means the close or personal and intimate relationship means that the martial relationship between them. For the intimate relationship violence the men society is dominant over the women and women have no rights in that personal relationship. The woman has done whatever her partner says and she was unable to live her own life. If she tried to do it so her man beat her and uses her. This all things come in the close relationship violence and this is major issues in most of the countries like Hong Kong. Their men used to bet their spouse in quite bad manner and this issue is quite increasing in that county. According to the studies it can be seen that many pregnant women in Hong Kong comes to hospital with serious issue of domestic violence. This social issue has been increased in Hong Kong because of patriarchal social system where men are dominant over the women.

        The belief of men being the stronger ones is strengthened in patriarchal societies. They are believed to hold the power whether in a relationship are not. Generally, men can be in the control of situations while women cannot and so is acted upon in such an environment. The power of men is exerted in mostly intimate relationships. Intimate relationship violence is not always exhibited by male participants. It also refers to the violence such as battering and beating in a relationship caused be female participants. Mostly, females are subjected through such violence (Cole 2018).
