Public affect the creation and
implementation of the strategies and policies for the employer as organizations
work in the society and work for the society therefore while taking the
decision and developing policies for the operations of the organization
management and employers of the organization are required to give importance to
the opinion and requirements of the society. In the research, Wilson supported
the theory that public opinion and requirements as great importance in making
the policies.
In accordance with the Wilson in
the past science of administration was not enough strong therefor in the
administration system limited importance was given to tested and standard
policy developed. But in the present age now public organizations and private
organizations are really concerned about their standard of policy. Research emphasis
that a single person cannot take the decision about the policy. In fact,
criticism and influence of the public and all concerning people cause to bring
changes in the policy and sometimes influence the organizations to make the
policy completely according to their requirements and desires.
In the research, it is concluded
that public criticism is indispensable for the management and employers of
public organizations (Shadnam & Lawrence, 2011). Even the public
opinion and public power have the influence on the private sector and private
organizations also but for the public organizations, it is inevitable to accept
the opinion of the public and give importance to their values and concerns
about the policy.
Particularly the Department of
Corrections is a department that is completely linked with the public. Because of
the direct link with the public they are obliged to do their work duties in
such a way that meets the expectations and requirements of the public. In case
of violation, they may face issues and questions on their performance.
Considering this, employers in the organizations give importance to the public
while developing their policies.
However, for such organizations
ignoring the public opinion and public affects at the time of developing
policies can generate challenging and conflicting situation. And not only at
the time of policy development but in fact at the time implementing the policy
in the workplace and related areas of the organization, for instance, while
hiring new employees they have to follow up the policies that benefit the
public or at least should not be against the society and its values.
