The
technologies Glass is a major organization having various production
facilities. The main products of the corporation are glass products as it is a
glass manufacturing organization. The corporation over the years has gain
customer loyalty and goodwill in the market because of its highly quality glass
products. The corporation focuses highly on quality and innovation which become
the main reason for the success of the business. In the organization I have
provided my duties in the Sales management department. The sales department of
the huskiness is among the largest department in the business and various
employees work under the sales manager. The working environment of sales
department is quite competitive because employees compete with each other to outperform
each other in terms of performance.
My
routine in the organization was to check the email of the clients or suppliers
so that goods can be transported efficiently to the customers. I have to
perform the work on excel to check the volume of the sales and whether the
products which have to be delivered to the customers are present in the
inventory or not. It is a quite hectic task and sometimes creates lot of work
stress w3hen the sales of the organization increases. There are other employees
the sales department as well who work on the excel files as well however I was
the only one who manages the emails and negotiate with the suppliers. My each
day starts with opening he emails to check whether the products have delivered
by the suppliers or not [1].
The
working environment in sales department is quite friendly and over manager is
very cooperative with the employees. The sales manager possess good
communication skills which allow the manager to motivate its employees efficiently. The manager each day before beginning the day
holds a short meeting in which it guides the new employees regarding their
routine tasks and how they can perform their duties more efficiently. In the
end of the day the manager takes feedback from the employees regarding the
whole day’s activities and what issues employees have faced during the day [2].
Roles
& Responsibilities
My
routine job responsibilities include managing the excel files which include the
information regarding the sales. The preparing excel spread sheet is a tough
task because it requires skills and if any error occurs in the excel
information it can have negative impact on the recording the financial
information. In the beginning I have faced difficulty in managing and preparing
excel files because ii don’t have prior experience in managing excel sheets. My
supervisor has guide me regarding how to manage the excel sheets. Through
proper guidance and training I become proficient in handling the excel files in
a short period [1].
My
other responsibilities are related with managing the email. Managing the email
seems like an easy task however it requires certain skills or abilities. I
possess good communication skills which allow me to handle the emails
accurately. I have negotiated with the suppliers quite effectively due to my
good communication skills. Even the manager of my department appreciated my
good communication skills saying that these skills have huge significance in
the sales department. In sales department I have learned lot of new skills
which I did not learned before and in short I can say that my knowledge and
skills increased up to lot of extent through working in the organization [3].
Learning
Objectives
When
I joined the organization and started working in the sales management
department I have established some objectives which I want to achieve over
time. In the beginning I did not have much knowledge about the market and how
various business activities are done in reality. I did not know much about
supplier negotiation and did not handle data in abundance. Therefore I have set
some objectives which I wanted to achieve in the organization. The objectives
which I established are mentioned as follows:
Gathering the skill of data Handling &
management
Gathering the information regarding market
Trends
Gathering Negotiation skills.
Improvement in Communication & problem
solving Skills
Managing Stress
In
the work term I can say that I have achieved almost all of the set objectives.
In my job have learned the skill of handling various amount of data which
improve my abilities of data collection and data analysis. Since I was working
in the sales department and negotiate with various suppliers of the
organization I get enough information about the latest market trends that
prevail in the market. I possess communication skills which further improved
through communicating with various suppliers [4].
In the organization I have witnessed the time when the sales of the
organization increases dramatically which causes increase in the number of work
related activities. At that time I have witnessed stress however in few days I
able to manage my stress efficiently. Therefore I can say that the objectives
that I set in the beginning have been achieved in work term.
