The importance of physical activity
cannot be denied in an individuals’ life because it is something, which allows
people be more active and healthy in their daily life. Sports can be an
effective tool for people to remain physically healthy and active. But there
are people who think that playing sports is just waste of time. They believe
that one should involve in various other skills learning activities other than
sports, because it is something, which wastes the precious time of students to
focus on their studies. The people in general and students in particular should
not give enough importance to sports as it cannot help to learn any
considerable skills. But fact of the matter is that I don’t agree with this
approach. Learning to play sports is not a waste of time, rather it is a
fruitful activity which helps individuals to remain fit as well as learn so
many life skills and lessons.
There are so many reasons to say
that learning to play sports is a great activity for obtaining valuable life
skills. The first skill that people can learn by playing sports is teamwork. It
is a known fact that there are many team sports, which allow individuals to
work together and cooperate with each other so that they can achieve a
collective goal. It is a great life skill to learn because a person may have to
deal with real world situations, where he/she needs to have the skill of
showing cooperation or having the ability to work with a team. For instance, a
person may have to work in a team to perform his job responsibilities, so
sports would allow individuals to make better interactions by cooperating with
each other.
This essence of cooperation of team
work can also help individuals to improve their communication skills as well. One
has to communicate well with his team members during sports so that they can
play well. The coordination and communication are also vital for individuals in
their practical life, as they have to meet so many people at their workplace or
in their town, where they live. The other thing that individuals can learn from
sports is the ability to fight until they reach their goal. A sport allows
people to learn that they should never accept defeat and work hard till the
last moment. This is a great skill to learn in life as individuals may face
various challenging situations in their life, but sports will enrich their
fighting spirit so that they never become pessimistic. On the other hand,
people who say that sports is waste of time; they are actually not aware of it true
meaning. They are not focusing with in-depth analysis on sports that how beneficial
it can be for every individual. A society will be healthier and physically
active by playing sorts, and physical active people will most like to have active
mental capabilities as well. A person, with low energy in daily life may not
show great energy in its thinking approach as well, but an active mind, filled
with sports energy may also develop active mind skills.
Sports are important in so many ways
for a healthy society and no one can deny the importance of sports in helping
people to learn valuable life skills. If an individual have never worked with a
team before, then how he/she would work with a team at his/her workplace. Sports
allow people to learn these life skills very early in their life before
entering into their professional fields. In today’s modern era, the technology
and internet has reduced the level of physical activity and sports, so in
future it would be important for people to pay sports to learn life skills as
well as achieve an active & healthy lifestyle.
