Interview about Cultural change

Category: Arts & Education Paper Type: Essay Writing Reference: N/A Words: 400

Life has basically many chapters and sometimes it brings the person to experience a cultural change as well. Sometimes, when an individual is accustomed to traditional values for a long time and is forced to live in a diverse atmosphere, it either becomes difficult to adapt to the change or very enjoyable. I was quite curious about it because I had yet to experience a cultural change. If there is a cultural change then does it changes human values as well? Recently, I knew that my friend from New Delhi, Amar had just moved and he was within my reach.

It took me only a little time to contact Amar and convey my message about the cultural change and interview. I was pleased to hear that Amar was willing to participate in the interview and give his ideas about the theme that I was curious about. I had to wait few hours because Amar was busy in his own ministrations. Even though I had to wait a little, I was happy because not only my longtime friend was coming but I would be able to conduct an interview as well.

When he was ready to participate in the interview, I asked the very first question that if he was uncomfortable with the cultural change that he experienced in Dubai. His answer actually surprised me because I was expecting something negative. Instead, he told me that it took only a few days for him to adapt to the Muslim culture in Dubai. He told me that he had heard rumors but they were proven wrong when he actually got to experience it. He was not uncomfortable at all.

The other question that I asked him was what he felt about Islamic rituals such as Eid-al-Fitr? His answer again intrigued me because it was quite positive. He told me that he enjoyed eating the food that was distributed when the time fasting came. Additionally, he had other Muslim friends as well and he went at their homes to celebrate the religious activity.

Overall, I got to know that cultural change was easily adaptable if a new perspective was adopted by the individual. Amar followed his own Hindu activities but it didn’t mean that he evaded Islamic activities.
