According to the research
conducted by Andrews & Walker (2016) it is
analyzed that chromium-6’s average level was found in the water which
was tested from almost 1370 countries of the United States and it exceeded the
nonbinding goal concerning the public health of Calofornia. The people who dink
this water daily for 70 years which have chromium-6 can have chance or risk of
cancer which have a ratio of one-in- billion.in the end of the century it was
found in the test of EPA and it was also estimated by EWG get a result that
chromium-6 in uses or drinking water causes more than 12,000 cases of cancer. [4].
According to the report by Chen (2016) it is noticed that Erin Brockovich Chen
(2016) tells that a chemical which causes cancer may be made famous. However,
the nationwide tests illustrate that its presence in our water still exists.
Moreover, it reaches harmful levels. Years ago when it came to chemicals,
tougher conditions should have been implemented by Environmental Protection
Agency of the U.S. It is exclaimed by the advocates. Chromium-6 was the name of
chemical or also hexavalent chromium, Erin Brockovich film featured the
chemical. In the movie, a role of activist is played by Julia Roberts and in
opposition to Pacific Gas & Electric, she leads the lawsuit. The claim
regarded contamination of water with the chemical. Industrial activities
actually produce Chromium-6 such as producing textiles and stainless steel.
It is noticed that there are
cancer-causing chemicals in the water that have the higher value of the
chromium-6 limits; however, it is analyzed that these chemicals can affect our
stomachs and there can be cancer. Erin Brockovich noticed that there are cancer-causing
chemicals in the water that are famous for having Chromium-6, which is
dangerous for health. Erin Brockovich in this way actively participating to
remove chromium-6 from water, however, it is need to be notice that water
should be filters out at home [5].
