The Duke Energy Company was founded in 1904 by James Duke
and Benjamin Duke now company is working in the highly competitive market of
energy production and supply. Similar to Duke there are American Electric
power, Dominion energy, and Korea Electric and National Thermal Power companies
working in the energy sector to provide energy in the targeted market through
consuming fuels. Duke Energy Company is currently covering 27% market shares.

energy and other companies working in the same sector as changes in the
interest rate, monetary policy, fluctuation in the GDP and inflation rate
causes to bring about changes in the industry. Duke Energy and American electric
power are leading the market because of their effective strategies. Policies
regarding the operations are designed in the way that ensure increase in the
goodwill. Under the laws and regulations they are obliged to make their
operations environment-friendly. Duke energy is considering their social
responsibility therefore they are trying to use the material in energy
generations that produce minimum air pollution in the society. According to
Forbes.com, Duke Energy Corporation is at the 227 number in the world ranking
of best employees that is because of the strong relationship and communication
system among employees and whole hierarchy of the company therefore duke is
doing better than its competitors. (Forbes.com 2018) Considering the current condition of
the company and operating environment it is clear that company future outlook
of the company needs some changes to remain sustainable in the society. According
to the financial analysis of the company price-earnings ratio of the company in
2017, 2016 and 2015 was as 19.29, 24.96, and 17.67. While Price to book ratio
of the company in 2017, 2016 and 2015 was 1.33, 1.21, and 1.12.
