Essay on The UGA Mobile App

        The official mobile app launched by University of Georgia with the name of UGA is a good one in so many ways. It is a mobile app, which is useful not only for students, but for staff, faculty, visitors and parents. I like this app because there are so many great features in this app. It has detailed campus map for everyone to see their desired location in the campus. If someone wants to find that where the computer lab is, they can easily find it on campus map, which makes it life so convenient for the users. If a visitor wants to visit the university and don’t know where the visitor center is; they can find it on the campus map provided by this app. If someone wants to get information about parking lots and deck, then they can get it through this app. At home tab of the application, one can see major functions & information of this app.

            It is important to keep in mind that mobile apps always have an area of improvement, and they can show some bugs in its performance, but that does not mean that app is a bad one. In this app, there is a great feature of UGA Bus as well as Athens Transit. A student can get live tracking for the University Buses that where they are and when it will reach to certain stops. The new addition to this was the live tracking of Athens Transit.  Such beneficial features of this app are amazing. But generally, it has been observed that buses live tracking system does not work as efficient as it should be. I have noticed that estimated time of a Bus to reach at certain stop is incorrect sometimes, which is bit inconvenient for the students. I have also experienced that while using the app, it suddenly crashes sometimes. I would like to give feedback to SGA & EITSS to look into these minor issues and eliminate these errors in the app, so that users can enjoy its features more, and get more benefits out of this app.
