There are various regions of the
world, which has great potential to grow in different ways, and India is one of
them. According to World Economic Forum, the Indian economy is growing as fast
as ever, and Indian manufacturing sector has great opportunities for the
international firms to invest, as man power and labor is cheap as compared to
developed world. So, it was important to have a look at Indian manufacturing
industry with regards to JIT system implementation [6].
Keeping the above point of view in mind, this article is crucial to review as
it is analyzing the implementation of JIT in manufacturing sector of their
different industries, and how JIT performed in those manufacturing industries. The
main focus of this article has been to analyze that how JIT system in Indian
manufacturing sector has helped to improve performance measures and
implications were also noted in this regard. The survey method was used to get
results for this study, and this method proved to be successful to get insights
from the Indian manufacturing sector [7]
The article came up with some
diverse range of findings, which revealed few other important success factors
as well other than JIT system. The JIT system and its implementation were found
to be extremely helpful for organizations to enhance different performance
measures. But it was also revealed that there are other critical aspects as
well such as workers’ participation, management’s attitude, organization’s
relationship with customers as well as suppliers, and adoption of latest
methods associated with manufacturing. The other major finding of the study was
that holistic methods of JIT manufacturing were way better in enhancing the measurements
of performance as compared to traditional methods. These findings are great to
know for firms, which are dealing with performance issues. It is important for
firms to understand that if they are struggling with performance in their
manufacturing process, then they have to reshape their manufacturing process
with JIT system as it will eliminate different kind of wastes, and production
process will vastly improve, and when process is improved, it is obvious to get
better organizational performance in all relevant terms. It means that JIT
system again proved to be a great one for the manufacturing systems.
