It is important to look at the
way managers and leaders work so that a difference can be identified between
them. The first different between them is that managers looks to set goals for
their teams, whereas leaders believes in creating a vision for their teams. The
managers are the ones, who believe in status quo and doing things right all the
time, whereas good thing about leaders is that they act like changes agents,
who believe in creativity and innovation. Moreover, leaders have their own
unique ways to handle people whereas managers copy certain set rules to manage
people. The other great characteristic of leaders is that they believe in
building trusted relationship with their employees, whereas managers always
look to develop work system, which ultimately achieves his goals. The leaders
are the ones, who work like coaches, and train people to progress, whereas
managers are the ones, who only give directions to things right, and don’t
engage with people as leaders do.
