In the history of design, there
are so many movements, which have their own crucial place in this historic
timeline. It is important to mention here that design movements history dates
back to 1850 when arts & craft movement was in its initial phases. Then the
modernism movement came in to being in 1880 and made its mark in the modern
design history. The other important break in the design history was made by
futurism in 1910. There are many other designs to talk about as well such as organic
design, streamlining, art deco, Scandinavian Modern design, pop art,
postmodernism, and deconstructivism etc. Each design movement had its own
distinction in the design history movements, but few of them were more
influential than others like streamlining and Scandinavian modern design. These
two designs were critical in this history of design timeline, so it is
essential to have a look at their earlier and later designs to see what changes
they made in the essence of art and design, and how they evolved with the
period of time (St Edmund's School 2016)
