The term that presents the small financial transactions in
which games are involved called Microtransaction in the games industry. In the
early days' microtransactions in the games were not as common as it is in
recent days. Microtransaction is also known or abbreviated as MTX in the games
industry. Microtransaction has no limitations related to the number of
transactions, however, usually, the cost or value of these transactions is
under ten to hundred dollars in most of the games. In this paper, current earning
generated by the microtransactions in the recent years and in the historical
perspective is also disused in detail that represents the growth trend for the
microtransactions in the video games industry [1].
In the Microtransactions, users are required to disclose
their credit card information thus transactions can be made to purchase digital
goods and contents. Typically, user purchases the gold coin, gold bricks or
something like this and the other main use of microtransactions is the purchase
of the full version of any game.
MTX is normally used in free-to-play or freemium games where the newly come
users do transactions to purchase different items or rating in games to get the
equal value as compared to the old or expert users in that game, but this
does not happen with all of them [2]. Some developers
take the balance between the users who made transactions and who don't make
transactions, in such cases how the developers keep the balance between them is
interesting fact so this happens when the developers just allow purchasing the
costume or accessories that do not affect the level or rating of users.
