The survey of WHO (World Health Organization) and UNICEF, in
Saharan Africa has the poorest water sanitation services as well as in the
south and eastern side of Asia.
Due to this poor sanitation, girls lived in rural areas suffered
a lot as suffered from different diseases and other social issues. As they do
not go to school and collect water for their family. However, in Sub Saharan
Africa, more than 70 percent women play prominent role in the collection of
water. Moreover, lack of sanitation and toilet cause the problem for women
especially their menstruation period.
The most drastic condition of lack of safe drinking water is
that more than seven hundred thousand children die due to the scarcity of safe
drinking water and suffered from Diarrhea that lead to the death of children
annually. The statistical analysis of 2012 year, due to diarrheal diseases
2,200 children die every day.
According to the report of NTDS regarding to poor drinking
and sanitation of water introduced a lot of diseases in different regions as
this water contain harmful parasites, viruses and bacteria especially in the
rural region of country. Malaria, Zika and other diseases due to the mosquito present
in the stagnant water. Because this stagnant water provides the environment to
bacteria, viruses, mosquitoes and bacteria to reproduce in this region.
Therefore, safe drinking water and sanitation safe the lives
of people more than 16 thousand in a week.
With the passage of time, as the population increases and
most of the world suffered from the scarcity of drinking water and sanitation
issues. And the condition becomes worse day by day due to lack of efficient
strategies.
The most affected gender due to lack of water and poor
sanitation is women and girl that faces sexual harassment as the collection of
water as well as when they go outside for defecation pit.
Only 3% of the world’s water is drinkable, despite the fact
that 75% of the planet is covered by it. Out of that tiny percent, only 1% is
actually accessible to humans. The majority of the world’s safe drinkable water
tucked away in remote regions.
Although the planet is covered with 75 percent of water, but
drinkable water is only 3 percent and in 3 percent only 1 percent is accessible
for humans, but the safe drinking water is not accessible and poor sanitation
in the rural regions.
