Introduction of Cultural and Social Challenges in Translation (Proposal)

        In a particular society, the social habits, norms, believes, customers, attitude and behavior of people collectively form a culture. Culture provides a close insight about the identity of a particular society therefore; it is also considered as a gate way to the heart of the particular society. Culture plays multiple roles in society from conveying the culture through history along with reflecting the identity of different people, and introducing achievements, thoughts, prehistoric events, ancient civilizations, old nations, achievements. In this regard, linguists, translation theories and few writers has provided in-depth discussion about the difficulties that occur while translating the culture into different departments of thoughts. Moreover, some peoples have also translated different languages such as Arabic into English to understand what culture is? There are many different reasons for doing so; however, it is difficult to generalize   a culture. Moreover, the translation of languages also served as the subservient for the many different reasons [1]

        One of the key problems related to the language translation to understand the culture is that there are too many culturally specific expressions and cultural term is used in some languages. Therefore, it is very difficult and challenging even for the professional translators to translate these culturally specific terms and expressions. It mainly because the culturally specific expression or term is too vague as present a societal view, value, believes or emotion associated with a specific word or expression. Therefore, these cultural contexts represent the elements that are necessary for information building in order to convey the message. These elements also provide assistance to the translators to easily translate the culture in to different languages to create in-depth understandings about a particular culture.

        Any expression, word or term is called cultural specific that is used to abstract specific information about the culture. This information could be about life style, type of cloths, type of food, traditions, customs, social habits, religious believes, moral values or social situations. The cultural context also reflects the political ideology and economic principles associated to a particular society. Therefore, it is integral to relate the cultural linguistics elements with the cultural context of the respective culture while translating. According to E. Nida (1964: 90) it is integral for a translator to have in-depth understanding about the contrast in the complete range of culture represented by both the languages that are being used in the process of translation from one to another.

        Language is considered as an integral aspect of identity of a society and culture. As per the Maya Indian living in the tropical countries every place if used for the vegetation expect for clear Maize field areas. However, for a desert of Palestine the clear filed is not suitable enough as of Maya Indian. The word desert (ءاﺮﺤﺻ /Şhra? /)  this word is not found in TC whereas it reflects a specific feature of the SC [2].

        Very cultural is different from others and this difference is based upon cultural connotation in general along with the food, festivals and names. In order to effectively adopt the language of the targeted culture the language localization can be used by the translators. For instance, in a financial translation the data cannot be translated. On the other hand, 05/06/2015 can be translated into English text as the 5^th of June whereas, it is the sequence is also referred as the 6^th of May in another language. Therefore, despite the competencies of the translator, it is very difficult and challenging if not impossible to achieve accurate transfer in the existence of cultural difference between both the languages to be used in the process. In such situation a slightest variation can be taken from the source language as an subversion against the represented culture. However, the literary language is a mean of providing subversion or alternative of reality or it can be considered as the act of subversion [3].
